ESOLUTION UTHORIZING ATER ETER EPLACEMENT ROJECT IDDING

ATER ETER EPLACEMENT ROJECT
WHEREAS, the City maintains over 22,000 water meters that are used to collect consumption
information and to generate water and sewer bills; and
WHEREAS, the City currently reads approximately three-fourths of these meters manually,
which are original to the property; and
WHEREAS, the accuracy of the meters diminishes over time, resulting in inaccurate billing; and
WHEREAS, a Preliminary Engineering Report was developed to guide the replacement of this
aging infrastructure; and
WHEREAS, this report recommends the project proceed to be bid with two primary alternatives;
and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, staff is directed to develop necessary specifications and bid the Water Meter
Replacement Project (15022).
