ESOLUTION UTHORIZING THE PPLICATION AND XECUTION OF THE

ENNEPIN OUNTY OUTH PORTS RANT FOR THE IRACLE IELD

IN ARTNERSHIP WITH THE AKKARY OHNSON OUNDATION
WHEREAS, Hennepin County, via the Hennepin Youth Sports Program, provides for capital funds
to assist local government units of Hennepin County for the development of sport or recreation
facilities, and
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth desires to develop a Miracle Field, Universal Design Playground,
and improved parking lot in partnership with the Zakkary Johnson Foundation for the purpose of
benefiting youth and the community.
NOW,THEREFORE,BEITRESOLVEDBYTHEMAYORANDCITYCOUNCILOFTHECITYOF
PLYMOUTH,MINNESOTA:
I.The estimate of the total cost of developing the Miracle Field, Universal Design
Playground and parking lot improvements is $2,200,000, and the Zakkary Johnson
Foundation and the City of Plymouth is requesting $300,000 from the Hennepin Youth
Sports Program and will assume responsibility for a matching funds requirement of
$1,900,000.
II.The City of Plymouth agrees to own, assume one hundred (100) percent of operation
costs for the Miracle Field, Universal Design Playground and parking lot improvements
and will operate the Miracle Field, Universal Design Playground and parking lot for its
intended purpose for the functional life of the facility, which is estimated to be 15 years.
III.The City agrees to enter into necessary and required agreements with Hennepin County
for the specific purpose of developing the Miracle Field, Universal Design Playground
and parking lot improvements and managing its long-term operation.
IV.That the Mayor and/or the City of Plymouth is authorized and directed to execute said
application and serve as official liaison with Hennepin County or its authorized
representatives.
