HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2011-257CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION No. 2011-257 A RESOLUTION APPROVING FINDINGS OF FACT FOR REZONING OF LAND AND FOR A ZONING ORDINANCE TEXT AMENDMENT RELATED TO THE CORNERSTONE AUTO PUD, FOR PROPERTY LOCATED SOUTHEAST OF COUNTY ROAD 9 AND 1-494 (2011037) WHEREAS, Cornerstone Auto Resource has requested reclassification of the zoning from C-4 (community commercial) to PUD (planned unit development) for property legally described as follows: Lot 1, Block 1, Powells Addition, Hennepin County, Minnesota; Lot 1, Block 1, Amoco Oil Company 2" a Addition, Hennepin County, Minnesota. WHEREAS, Cornerstone Auto Resource has requested a zoning text amendment to establish the Cornerstone Auto PUD; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed said request at a duly called public hearing and recommends approval; and WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted an ordinance rezoning the affected property from C-4 to PUD and amending the zoning ordinance text. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does approve the request by Cornerstone Auto Resource for reclassification of the zoning from C-4 to PUD for the roughly 5.6 -acre site located at 3901 and 3955 Vinewood Lane (as legally described above), and for a zoning ordinance text amendment to establish the Cornerstone Auto PUD, based on the following findings: I . The proposed PUD zoning would be consistent with the comprehensive plan. 2. The proposed PUD zoning would provide the city with a higher level of regulatory control than could be achieved under conventional zoning. 3. Adequate infrastructure is in place to support the proposed PUD zoning of the site. ADOPTED on August 9, 2011. Resolution 2011-257 (2011037) Page 2 STATE OF MINNESOTA) COUNTY OF HENNEPIN) SS.
