RESOLUTION No. 2011-244
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A REQUEST TO DENY ACCESS TO SUNSET TRAIL FOR DALE
AND GAYLE ORTLIP FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 505 JONQUIL LANE (201 1044)
WHEREAS, Dale and Gayle Ortlip requested that access to Sunset Trail be denied for their
property located at 505 Jonquil Lane and more specifically described as:
Lot 7, Block 1, Hennings I st Addition, according to the recorded plat thereof,
Hennepin County, Minnesota.
WHEREAS, the property is located at the intersection of Jonquil Lane and Sunset Trail
and the property has access to Jonquil Lane;
WHEREAS, the Hennings I st Addition was approved in 1982 and access to Sunset Trail
was not denied as a condition of the subdivision;
WHEREAS, Sunset Trail is a minor collector roadway and such accesses are discouraged
by the Comprehensive Plan and the City Code when other access is available to a lower volume
street;
WHEREAS, all the adjacent homes to the west between Jonquil Lane and Kirkwood Lane
platted as part of the Sunset Valley Homes Second Addition were denied access to Sunset Trail
as a condition of plat approval;
WHEREAS, the City has a prohibition on detached accessory buildings in front yards if
access to Sunset Trail is permitted and the applicants would like to constrict a small accessory
building between their home and Sunset Trail.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does
deny private driveway access to Sunset Trail from 505 Jonquil Lane.
