CALL TO ORDER - 7:00 P.M. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 3. PUBLIC FORUM 4. APPROVAL OF AGENDA MOTION by Commissioner Oakley, seconded by Commissioner Goldetsky, to approve the August 19, 2015 Planning Commission Agenda. Vote. 6 Ayes. MOTION approved. 5. CONSENT AGENDA A. APPROVAL OF THE AUGUST 5, 2015 PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES B. TOOTH AND NAIL BUILDERS. (2015060) Approve a variance to the front yard setback to allow a covered deck addition for property located at 1710 Forestview Lane. Commissioner Witt stated she had questions about 5B and requested it be taken off the consent agenda for discussion. Chair Davis said item 5B would become item 6A under new business. MOTION by Commissioner Oakley, seconded by Commissioner Goldetsky, to approve the consent agenda with the removal of Item 5B. Vote. 6 Ayes. MOTION approved. 6. NEW BUSINESS A. TOOTH AND NAIL BUILDERS. (2015060) Chair Davis said this is a request for a variance to the front yard setback to allow a covered deck addition for property located at 1710 Forestview Lane. ApprovedPlanning Commission Minutes August 19, 2015 Page 2 Commissioner Witt asked how the abutting Medicine Lake Community Club site is zoned. Senior Planner Drill responded that the site is zoned RSF-1 (single-family detached 1), and that the community club has been there for several years. He said it may be operating as a lawful nonconforming use in the district. Commission Witt asked how often the community club is used. Senior Planner Drill responded that is it used occasionally for weddings and other events. Commissioner Witt asked if the requested variance would have any impact on the potential for the community club site to redevelop in the future. Senior Planner Drill responded that the requested variance would not have any impact on the community club site or its potential to redevelop in the future. Commissioners Oakley and Goldetsky stated that they like to see front porches and patios, as they are neighborly. MOTION by Commissioner Oakley, seconded by Commissioner Goldetsky, to recommend approval of the requested variance to the front yard setback to allow a covered deck addition for property located at 1710 Forestview Lane. Vote. 6 Ayes. MOTION approved. 7.ADJOURNMENT MOTION by Chair Davis, with no objection, to adjourn the meeting at 7: 10 P.M.
