HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1999-378CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 99-378 A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING APPLICATION FOR TRANSIT CAPITAL FUNDING FROM THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL FOR REPLACEMENT BUSES AND FLEET EXPANSION WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has requested applications from transit agencies and transit authorities in the metropolitan area for transit capital project funding; and WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth operates a Replacement Transit service known as Plymouth Metrolink under Minnesota Statutes Section 473.388; and WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth desires regional transit funding for replacement buses and fleet expansion; and WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth strongly endorses the application to the Metropolitan Council on behalf of Plymouth Metrolink for replacement buses and fleet expansion. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That the Plymouth City Council supports and approves application to the Metropolitan Council for replacement buses and fleet expansion for Plymouth Metrolink as follows: • Replacement buses: 10 Bluebird CS series, estimated cost $1,600,000 5 Champion Crusaders, estimated cost $300,000 • Additional buses (fleet expansion): 6 Bluebird CS series, estimated cost $960,000 2 Champion Crusaders, estimated cost $120,000 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the required 20% match for this grant be taken from the Budget Carryover Fund (BCF) of Plymouth Metrolink in the amount of $596.000.
