RESOLUTION NO. 99-377
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING APPLICATION FOR TRANSIT
CAPITAL FUNDING FROM THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has requested applications from transit agencies and transit
authorities in the metropolitan area for transit capital project funding; and
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth operates a Replacement Transit service known as Plymouth
Metrolink under Minnesota Statutes Section 473.388; and
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth desires regional transit funding for transit capital improvement
projects; and
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth strongly endorses the application to the Metropolitan Council
on behalf of Plymouth Metrolink for transit capital improvement project funding for a regional
transit hub, park and ride lot.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That the Plymouth City Council supports and encourages
application to the Metropolitan Council for transit capital project funding for Plymouth Metrolink
as follows:
• A regional transit hub/park and ride lot in the vicinity of I-494 and Highway 55 as shown
in the Comprehensive Operational Analysis (COA) report prepared by the Metropolitan
Transit Commission in October 1992, as well as the Facilities Study prepared by LSA
Design in 1996.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that one-half of the required 20% match (or 10%) for this grant
be taken from the Budget Carryover Fund (BCF) of Plymouth Metrolink in the amount of
$550,000.
