RESOLUTION NO. 99 - 343
AUTHORIZING "ALL -WAY" STOP AT
SCHMIDT LAKE ROAD AND VICKSBURG LANE
WHEREAS, the intersection of Schmidt Lake Road and Vicksburg Lane is the intersection
of two arterial roadways; and
WHEREAS, Schmidt Lake Road has recently been improved to a four lane roadway with
turn lanes at the intersection of Vicksburg Lane; and
WHEREAS, the City's traffic consultant, SRF Consulting Group, Inc., completed an
analysis of four way stop control at the intersection of Vicksburg Lane and Schmidt Lake
Road with their results detailed in a report dated July 26, 1999 which included a
recommendation that "all -way" stop control be installed at this intersection if the accident
warrant is met; and
WHEREAS, on July 26, 1999 a right angle accident was reported at the intersection of
Schmidt Lake Road and Vicksburg Lane which caused the accident warrant to be met i.e.,
five right angle type accidents occurring within a twelve month period.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That "all -way" stop control be installed at the
intersection of Vicksburg Lane and Schmidt Lake Road.
AND FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that an "all -way" red flashing warning device be
installed at this intersection.
Adopted by the City Council on August 17, 1999.
