HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1999-328CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 99-328 REQUESTING MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO CONDUCT A SPEED ZONING STUDY VICKSBURG LANE FROM TRUNK HIGHWAY 55 TO COUNTY ROAD 6 WHEREAS, the current speed limit on Vicksburg Lane was established by MnDOT in 1982, after the existing roadway was improved from a two lane rural to a four lane urban section; and WHEREAS, MnDOT conducted a speed zoning study in May 1996, to determine the safe and reasonable speed on Vicksburg Lane from County Road 6 to Trunk Highway 55 and determined that the existing 50 m.p.h. limit was appropriate; and WHEREAS, significant development has occurred in the area served by Vicksburg Lane and traffic levels have increased over the past three years since the last speed zoning study was completed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That the City request the Minnesota Department of Transportation to undertake an engineering study to determine the safe and reasonable speed on the following road: Vicksburg Lane from Trunk Highway 55 to County Road 6.
