Special Council Meeting
August 11, 2015
Mayor Slavik called a Special Meeting of the Plymouth City Council to order at 5:30 p.m. in the
Medicine Lake Room of City Hall, 3400 Plymouth Boulevard, on August 11, 2015.
COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Slavik, Councilmembers Beard, Carroll, Prom, Willis, Johnson,
and Wosje.
ABSENT: None.
STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Callister, Administrative Services Director Fischer, Park and
Recreation Director Evans, Human Resources Manager Kone, and City Clerk Engdahl.
POW/MIA Flag at Veterans Memorial
The Council noted that all service branches flags are represented at the Veterans Memorial.
However, the Council hadn't had the opportunity to discuss flying the POW/MIA flag below the
American Flag at the Veterans Memorial. Therefore, the Council discussed the flying of this flag
at the Veterans Memorial.
Gary Modlin, 14152 62nd Place North, Maple Grove, and Michael Yu, 18956 63rd Avenue,
Maple Grove, addressed the Council on behalf of those in attendance requesting the Council's
support in flying the POW/MIA flag at the Veterans Memorial.
Motion was made by Mayor Slavik, and seconded by Councilmember Johnson, to fly th
POW/MIA flag 365 days per year under the American Flag at the Veterans Memorial. With all
members voting in favor, the motion carried.
Set Future Study Sessions
The following study sessions were modified/scheduled:
October 13 at 5:30 p.m.: Joint meeting with HRA to discuss open parcels.
October 20 at 5:30 p.m.: Economic development and public works expansion.
October 27 at 5:30 p.m.: Transit update.
Adjournment of Special Meeting
Mayor Slavik adjourned the Special Meeting at 6:16 p.m.

Closed Session
Mayor Slavik called a Closed Session of the Plymouth City Council to order at 6:20 p.m. in the
Medicine Lake Room.
COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Slavik, Councilmembers Beard, Carroll, Prom, Willis, Johnson,
and Wosje.
ABSENT: None.
STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Callister and Human Resources Manager Kone.
The Council discussed the City Manager's Performance Evaluation. Mayor Slavik stated she
would announce the results/findings of this meeting at the beginning of tonight's Regular
Meeting.
Adiournment of Closed Session
Mayor Slavik adjourned the Closed Session at 7:00 p.m.
