RESOLUTION NO. 99-23
ADOPTING A YEAR 2000 POLICY STATEMENT FOR THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH
AND APPOINTING THE YEAR 2000 COORDINATOR FOR THE CITY OF
PLYMOUTH
WHEREAS, the Year 2000 problem involves not only computers but also city operations
and the entire community;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Plymouth,
Minnesota, that the Year 2000 Policy Statement for the City of Plymouth is hereby adopted:
The City of Plymouth recognizes that the Year 2000 problem involves more than just computer
issues, and that all city departments and services may be impacted by Year 2000 problems, the
City of Plymouth's policy is that addressing the Year 2000 problem is a top priority for all city
operations. The City of Plymouth commits to identify, address, and resolve potential problems
created by year 2000 issues to the best of its ability. The C'ity of Plymouth further commits to
make its best effort to ensure the continuity of essential city services. The City of Plymouth
pledges to develop contingency and emergency preparedness plans to address the possible
effects of computer and operational system failures throughout the community. The City of
Plymouth believes that coordination of all entitles working on the Year 2000 problem is essential
to the efficiency and effectiveness of the C'ity'.s overall year 2000 effort, and pledges its best
efforts to support regional cooperation on Year 2000 issues.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Assistant City Manager is hereby appointed the
Year 2000 Coordinator for the City of Plymouth, Minnesota
Adopted by the City Council on January 5, 1999.
