RESOLUTION NO. 98-677
GRANT AGREEMENT NO. SG -97 -PF -101 BETWEEN THE
METROPOLITAN COUNCIL AND THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH FOR
PARK-AND-RIDE FACILITIES AT THE MESSIAH UNITED
METHODIST CHURCH WEST OF THE INTERSECTION OF
COUNTY ROAD 101 AND COUNTY ROAD 6
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council requested applications from transit agencies and
transit authorities in the Metropolitan area for Transit Capital Project Funding; and
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth operates a replacement transit service known as Plymouth
Metrolink under Minnesota Statutes Section 473.388; and
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth desires Regional Transit Capital Funding for Transit
Capital Improvement Projects; and
WHEREAS, the Plymouth City Council by Resolution No. 97-587 expressed their support
and authorized application to the Metropolitan Council for Transit Capital Project Funding
for Plymouth Metrolink; and
WHEREAS, after notification by the Metropolitan Council that the City of Plymouth had
been successful in obtaining a grant for park-and-ride design and constriction in the amount
of $86,400 west of the intersection of County Road 101 and County Road 6 in Plymouth at
the Messiah United Methodist Church;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That it should and hereby does authorize the
Mayor and City Manager to enter into the Grant Agreement between the Metropolitan
Council and the City of Plymouth for Transit Capital Financial Assistance for the design and
constriction of a park-and-ride facility at the Messiah United Methodist Church based on a
total grant amount of $86,400. The project is identified as City Project No. 8006.
Adopted by the City Council on November 4, 1998.
