HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1998-585CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION 98-585 APPROVING LAND USE GUIDE PLAN AMENDMENT FOR THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH FOR PROPERTY LOCATED NORTH OF MEDINA ROAD, SOUTH OF HIGHWAY 55 AND EAST OF CO. RD. 10 1(98117) WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has requested reclassification of the land use guiding from Planned Industrial (IP) to Living Area 2 (LA -2) and Public Institutional (P -I) for a roughly twenty -acre parcel located north of Medina Road, south of Highway 55 and east of Co. Rd. 101; and, WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed said request at a duly called Public Hearing and recommends approval. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does approve the request by the City of Plymouth for reclassification of the land use guiding from Planned Industrial (IP) to Living Area 2 (LA -2) and Public Institutional (P -I) for a roughly twenty -acre parcel located north of Medina Road, south of Highway 55 and east of Co. Rd. 101, based on the following findings: 1. The two residential properties are not of adequate size to redevelop for industrial or office uses. 2. The proposed guide plan amendment meets the location criteria for the LA -2 and P -I guiding. 3. The reguiding is consistent with other comprehensive plan elements. 4. The NSP and water tower property will continue to be used for utility purposes. 5. The church property is currently zoned P -I, and the proposed guide plan amendment would bring the zoning into conformance with the Comprehensive Plan as required by state law. FURTHER, approval of the Land Use Guide Plan Amendment is contingent upon, and subject to, the required review and response by the Metropolitan Council.
