HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1998-451CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION 98-451 APPROVING FINDINGS OF FACT FOR AMENDING SECTION 21560 (I-1, LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT) OF THE PLYMOUTH CITY CODE (98122) WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth finds it necessary to amend the zoning ordinance to permit therapeutic massage in the industrial zoning districts; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the text amendment relating to the regulation of therapeutic massage at a duly called Public Hearing and recommends approval; and WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted Ordinance No. 98-25 amending the Zoning Ordinance text relating to therapeutic massage. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that revisions to Section 21560 of the City Code are necessary based on the following findings: 1. The amendments are consistent with the Comprehensive Plan and other City policies and plans. 2. The amendments meet the purpose and intent of the Ordinance. Therapeutic massage is consistent with other uses allowed in the industrial districts. 3. The ordinance standards will ensure that therapeautic massage facilities in the industrial zoning districts are operated in a manner that that does not adversely impact the public health, safety or aesthetics of the community.
