HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1998-413CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 98 - 413 RESOLUTION SETTING POLICY REQUIRING A MINIMUM NUMBER OF ALCOHOL COMPLIANCE CHECKS AT EACH LICENSED ESTABLISHMENT WHEREAS, for the last several years in its overall Council goals and objectives for the City, the Council has determined that preventing minor access to alcohol and tobacco as one of its top goals; and WHEREAS, part of this program includes the continuing program of compliance checks for both alcohol and tobacco sales within the community; and WHEREAS, the Police Department has, by practice, also done at least two compliance checks at each liquor establishment also within the last two years, although there is no requirement to do so; and WHEREAS, to show its commitment to the overall City goal of preventing minor access to alcohol and ensure a continuing program of compliance checks in this area, the City Council believes there should be at least two checks at each licensed establishment during each calendar year. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, the City Council adopt the resolution setting policy requiring a minimum of two alcohol compliance checks at each licensed establishment within the City during each calendar year.
