HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1998-359CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION 98-359 APPROVING FINDINGS OF FACT FOR REZONING OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF SCHMIDT LAKE ROAD AND NORTHWEST BOULEVARD (98063) WHEREAS, Janco, Inc. has requested reclassification of the zoning from RSF-1 (Single Family Detached 1) to RSF-2 (Single Family Detached 2) for 9.41 acres of land located at the southeast corner of Schmidt Lake Road and Northwest Boulevard, legally described as follows: That part of Tract B, Registered Land Survey No. 466, Hennepin County, Minnesota, lying north of a line described as follows: Beginning at a point on the west line of said tract distant 555.00 feet southerly of the northwest corner; thence easterly, parallel with the north line of said tract, to the west line of Tract C, said Registered Land Survey and there terminating. Except that part thereof platted as Tammie Middlemist Addition. Subject to Schmidt Lake Road and Northwest Boulevard. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed said request at a duly called Public Hearing and recommends approval; and WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted an ordinance rezoning the affected parcel from RSF-1 (Single Family Detached 1) to RSF-2 (Single Family Detached 2). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does approve the request for reclassification of the zoning from RSF-1 (Single Family Detached 1) to RSF-2 (Single Family Detached 2) for 9.41 acres of land located at the southeast corner of Schmidt Lake Road and Northwest Boulevard, based on the following findings: 1. The proposed rezoning is consistent with the comprehensive plan and other City policies and plans. Resolution 98-359 (98063) Page 2 2. The proposed development meets the standards of the RSF-2 (Single Family Detached 2) zoning district. 3. The proposed RSF-2 zoning allows a development that meets the City's density goal specified in the City's housing plan. 4. There is adequate infrastructure available to support the RSF-2 zoning and single family development proposed for this site. ADOPTED by the City Council on June 24, 1998.
