HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1998-285CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 98 - 285 RESOLUTION DECLARING COST TO BE ASSESSED AND ORDERING PREPARATION OF PROPOSED ASSESSMENT 1998 STREET RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT - PHASE I CITY PROJECT NO. 8001 WHEREAS, bids have been received for the improvement of certain streets in Maintenance District 23: • 32"a Avenue from Plymouth Boulevard to Juneau Lane • 31" Avenue from Niagara Lane to Juneau Lane • Juneau Lane from 31" Avenue to 32"a Avenue • Niagara Lane from 31" Avenue to the cul-de-sac north of 32"a Avenue • Minnesota Lane from 32"a Avenue to the cul-de-sac north of 32"a Avenue • Lanewood Lane from 32"a Avenue to the cul-de-sac north of 32"a Avenue. by the reconstruction of streets including the installation of bituminous pavement, concrete curb and gutter, storm sewer and all necessary appurtenances, and the estimated final contract price for such improvement is $808,604 and the expenses incurred or to be incurred in the making of said improvement amount to be $161,721 so the total estimate cost of the improvement is $970,325 and of this cost the City will pay $731,281.14 as its share of the cost; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: 1. The cost of such improvement to be specially assessed is hereby declared to be $239,043.86. 2. The City Clerk, with the assistance of the City Engineer, shall forthwith calculate the proper amount to be special assessed from such improvement against every assessable lot, piece or parcel of land within the district affected, without regard to cash valuation, as provided by the law, and shall file a copy of such proposed assessment in the office for public inspection. 3. The Clerk shall upon completion of such proposed assessment notify the City Council thereof. Adopted by the City Council on May 6, 1998.
