RESOLUTION 98 - 277
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH AND THE METROPOLITAN
COUNCIL FOR OPERATION OF TRANSIT SERVICE
WHEREAS, The City of Plymouth under the Minnesota Transit Demonstration Project commonly
known as "Opt -Out," has initiated the Plymouth Metrolink and Plymouth Dial -A -Ride Transit
Programs; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 97-482 approved by the Plymouth City Council on
August 20, 1997, the City of Plymouth and the Metropolitan Council agreed to an extension of
existing contract 95-000-026 from the expiration date of July 31, 1997, until a new agreement for
provision of services was negotiated; and
WHEREAS; that revised contract provided for a total operating rate per revenue hour for large
buses provided by Metro Transit of $110.31 per hour initially to $119.36 in the final year; and
WHEREAS; during the lifetime of this revised contract new and/or newer vehicles may be
provided on an agreed upon schedule; and
WHEREAS, a revised contract has finally been prepared by the Metropolitan Council and
presented to the City of Plymouth in acceptable form including a revised rate schedule agreeable
to both parties; and
WHEREAS, this revised contract provides for a total operating rate per revenue hour for large
buses provided by Metro Transit of $109.39 effective January 1, 1998, to $118.39 in the -1 year
of the contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That it should and hereby does authorize the Mayor and the
City Manager to enter into the Agreement between the City of Plymouth and the Metropolitan
Council for operation of transit service including the provision of large buses for transit services
with rates retroactive to the period from January 1, 1998, based on the contract price of $109.32
per revenue hour detailed in the agreement identified as Contract No. 97-000-030.
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the parties agree that the Metropolitan Council shall
continue the service as provided in the agreement until December 31, 2000.
