RESOLUTION 98-271
AMENDING BOUNDARIES FOR
PLYMOUTH VOTING PRECINCTS 1 AND 10
WHEREAS, on March 16, 1992, the City Council approved a 20 precinct plan for the City; and
WHEREAS, the following designations were established for Precincts 1 and 10:
Precinct 1: Beginning at the intersection of Interstate 494 and the north City boundary
line; thence southerly along Interstate 494 to the Soo Line Railroad; thence westerly
and northwesterly to Vicksburg Lane; thence southerly to State Highway 55; thence
northwesterly along State Highway 55 to County Road 24; thence southwesterly and
westerly to the City limits; thence northerly along the west City limits to the north City
limits; thence easterly along the north City limits to the point of beginning.
Precinct 10: Beginning at the intersection of Vicksburg Lane and the Soo Line
Railroad; thence southerly along Vicksburg Lane to Plymouth Creek; thence
southeasterly along Plymouth Creek to Interstate 494; thence northerly along
Interstate 494 to the Soo Line Railroad; thence westerly along the Soo Line Railroad
to the point of beginning.
WHEREAS, Precincts 1 and 10 have experienced significant population growth since 1992 which
resulted in administrative difficulties in the polling places on election day.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Plymouth that Precinct 1 is
hereby divided as follows:
Precinct IA: Beginning at the intersection of Interstate 494 and the north City
boundary line; thence southerly along Interstate 494 to the Soo Line Railroad; thence
westerly and northwesterly along the Soo Line Railroad to Vicksburg Lane; thence
southerly along Vicksburg Lane to Old Rockford Road; thence westerly and
northwesterly along Old Rockford Road to State Highway 55; thence northwesterly
along State Highway 55 to the City limits; thence northerly along the west City limits
to the north City limits; thence easterly along the north City limits to the point of
beginning.
Precinct 1B: Beginning at the intersection of Old Rockford Road and Vicksburg
Lane; thence southerly along Vicksburg Lane to State Highway 55; thence westerly
and northwesterly along State Highway 55 to Old Rockford Road; thence easterly
along Old Rockford Road to the point of beginning.
Precinct 1C: Beginning at the intersection of State Highway 55 and County
Road 24; thence southerly and southwesterly along County Road 24 to the west City
limits; thence north along the west City limits to State Highway 55; thence
southeasterly along State Highway 55 to the point of beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Precinct 10 is hereby divided as follows:
Precinct 10A: Beginning at the intersection of Vicksburg Lane and the Soo Line
Railroad; thence southerly along Vicksburg Lane to Old Rockford Road; thence
easterly and southeasterly along Old Rockford Road to Rockford Road; thence
easterly along Rockford Road to Fernbrook Lane; thence north along Fernbrook Lane
to Schmidt Lake Road; thence east along Schmidt Lake Road to Interstate 494; thence
north along I-494 to the Soo Line Railroad; thence westerly along the Soo Line
Railroad to the point of beginning.
Precinct IOB: Beginning at the intersection of Old Rockford Road and Vicksburg
Lane; thence southerly along Vicksburg Lane to Plymouth Creek; thence southeasterly
along Plymouth Creek to Interstate 494; thence northerly along Interstate 494 to
Schmidt Lake Road; thence westerly along Schmidt Lake Road to Fernbrook Lane;
thence southerly along Fernbrook Lane to Rockford Road; thence westerly along
Rockford Road to Old Rockford Road; thence northwesterly along Old Rockford
Road to the point of beginning.
