RESOLUTION 98-269
APPROVING FINDINGS OF FACT FOR AMENDING SECTION 21005.02
(DEFINITIONS) AND SECTION 21460 (C-2, NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL)
OF THE PLYMOUTH CITY CODE (98043)
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth finds it necessary to amend the zoning ordinance to
permit personal fitness recreation facilities in the C-2 zoning district; and
WHEREAS, the revisions to Section 21460 also require minor text amendments to related
Section 21005; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the text amendments relating to the
regulation of recreation facilities at a duly called Public Hearing and recommends
approval; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted Ordinance No. 98-14 amending the Zoning
Ordinance text relating to personal fitness recreation facilities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that revisions to Section 21005 and Section
21460 of the City Code are necessary based on the following findings:
1. The amendments are consistent with the Comprehensive Plan and other City policies
and plans.
2. The amendments meet the purpose and intent of the Ordinance.
3. The ordinance standards will ensure that personal fitness recreation facilities in the C-2
zoning district are operated in a manner that that does not adversely impact the public
health, safety or aesthetics of the community.
