HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1998-267CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION 98-267 APPROVING INTERIM USE PERMIT FOR UNTIEDT' S VEGETABLE FARM FOR A TEMPORARY GREENHOUSES AND PRODUCE SALES ON PROPERTY LOCATED SOUTH OF CO. RD. 6 AND WEST OF CO. RD. 101 (98040) WHEREAS, Untiedt's Vegetable Farm is requested approval of an interim use permit for property located south of Co. Rd. 6 and west of Co. Rd. 101, legally described as follows: Lot 1, Block 2, Schiebes Oakwood, Hennepin County, Minnesota. WHEREAS, this interim use permit for the operation of a seasonal greenhouse and produce sales on the site; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed said request at a duly called Public Hearing and recommends approval. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does approve the request by Untiedt's Vegetable Farm for an interim use permit to operate a greenhouse and produce sales on property located south of Co. Rd. 6 and west of Co. Rd. 101, subject to the following conditions: 1. This interim use permit is for a temporary greenhouse and produce sales from May through October, in accordance with the application and plans received by the City on March 12, 1998. 2. The interim use permit shall terminate on November 1, 1998. All products, displays, and temporary strictures shall be removed from the site by November 8, 1998. 3. Available parking shall be re-evaluated if major tenants change, or if the large vacant tenant space if occupied. The City may revoke the interim use permit if a documented parking problem involving a shortage of parking or traffic circulation occurs. Resolution 98-267 (98040) Page 2 4. Products shall be limited to produce, vegetables, flowers, and plants. Other accessory items may be sold provided there are clearly incidental to the sale of produce, flowers, and plants. 5. The display of merchandise on unpaved landscaped areas shall be prohibited. 6. The hours of operation shall be limited to 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. 7. Signage related to this use shall be in compliance with the temporary sign standards of Section 21155 and shall be allowed for the duration of the event. Signage shall comply with the following criteria: a) Two signs not to exceed 6 feet in height or 16 square feet in sign area shall be permitted on each street frontage. b) No signage shall be placed on the greenhouse strictures. c) Special signage for purposes of traffic direction and control may be authorized by the Zoning Administrator; the erection and removal of such signage shall be the responsibility of the applicant.
