HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1998-254CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION 98-254 APPROVING FINDINGS OF FACT FOR AMENDING SECTION 21175 AND 21650 OF THE PLYMOUTH CITY CODE (ANTENNAS AND PUBLIC/INSTITUTIONAL ZONING DISTRICT) (97155) WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth finds it necessary to establish predicable and balanced regulations for the siting and placement of public safety communication equipment in the City of Plymouth. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that revisions to Section 21175 and 21650 of the City Code are necessary to: Establish standards which permit a reasonable opportunity for the establishment of public safety communication services; 2. Ensure that public safety communication facilities are designed, constricted, and installed in a manner that does not adversely impact public safety; Maximize the use of existing and approved communication towers to accommodate new wireless technology in order to minimize the number of free-standing poles/towers needed to serve the community; and Adopted by the City Council on this 15'11 day of April, 1998.
