RESOLUTION 2015-233
APPROVING FINDINGS OF FACT FOR A ZONING ORDINANCE TEXT AMENDMENT TO
SECTION 21000.15 TO PROHIBIT CANNABIS -RELATED USES AND 21005 TO ADD
DEFINITIONS RELATED TO CANNABIS USES (2015056)
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth studied the uses based on recent legislative changes; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has reviewed the uses and the potential impact to the health,
safety and welfare of the citizens of the community; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has found that the safety and security of the citizens of the
community are best served by prohibiting the cultivation/harvest, manufacture, distribution or testing of
cannabis and cannabis -related products; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the proposed text amendment at a duly called
public hearing and recommends approval of the text amendments.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby approves the zoning ordinance text amendments to define and
prohibit cannabis -related uses, based upon the finding that the proposed amendment would be
consistent with the city's comprehensive plan and with the city's ordinances and policies.
ADOPTED by the City Council on this 28th day of July, 2015.
