RESOLUTION No. 2015-216
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE RETURN OF DRMO MILITARY SURPLUS RIFLES
AND THE PURCHASE OF REPLACEMENT EQUIPMENT
WHEREAS, the Police Department desires to return seven rifles that were obtained in 1998 from
the Army's surplus equipment distribution program (DRMO); and
WHEREAS, this will allow for the opportunity to purchase new rifles that meet the standard rifle
platform used by the Police Department; and
WHEREAS, this will allow six rifles to be dedicated to the training Department which will
improve the safety of the department's training; and
WHEREAS, each rifle will be updated with the current lighting package; and
WHEREAS, the approximate cost of $53,343 will be split evenly between the DWI forfeiture fund
and the equipment replacement fund,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BYTHE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA that the return of DRMO military surplus rifles and the purchase of replacement
equipment at an amount not to exceed $53,343 is hereby approved.
