RESOLUTION No. 2015-204
LOCAL GOVERNMENT RESOLUTION
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT INFRASTRUCTURE APPLICATION
ST. JUDE MEDICAL
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has approved a site plan amendment for a 275,000 square foot
building expansion, a 288 stall parking lot expansion and related site improvements for St. Jude Medical;
and
WHEREAS, St. Jude Medical has requested that the City submit an application on its behalf to the
Department of Employment and Economic Development's Business Development Public Infrastructure
Grant program.
BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Plymouth will act as the legal sponsor for the project contained in
the Business Development Infrastructure Application to be submitted on or about July 26, 2015 and that
Mayor and City Manager are herby authorized to apply to the Department of Employment and Economic
Development for funding of this project on behalf of the City of Plymouth.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Plymouth has the legal authority to apply for financial
assistance and the institutional, managerial, and financial capability to ensure matching funds, adequate
construction, operation, maintenance and replacement of the proposed project for its design life.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Plymouth has not violated any Federal, State, or local laws
pertaining to fraud, bribery, kickbacks, collusion, conflict of interest or other unlawful or corrupt practice.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon approval of its application by the state, the City of Plymouth
may enter into an agreement with the State of Minnesota for the above -referenced project, and that it will
comply with all applicable laws and regulations as stated in all contract agreements.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon approval of their application by the state, St. Jude Medical will
contribute the entire required local match from its own funds.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Plymouth will repay the grant if milestones are
not realized by the completion date identified in the Application.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that the submission of the Department of Employment and Economic Development's Business
Development Public Infrastructure Grant application is hereby approved and authorized to execute such
agreements, and amendments thereto, as are necessary to implement the project on behalf of the
applicant.
