This prioritization is exhibited through its first-rate commitment to: 10 creating parks which increase public access and enjoyment of nature; .• creating an extensive system of trails and sidewalks which allow people to travel without the use of a car; a water management plan which strives toward building a healthier environment; thorough environmental considerations for new development including instituting aggressive regulations for protecting trees and water; • instituting anti -erosion policies and requiring wetland buffer zones; • encouraging native plantings,_- lantings,_ healthy wetlands, and tree preservation, and providing incentives for many of these types of efforts; . ,• banning, phosphorous fertilizers; • preserving natural areas for their environmental importance to Plymouth, its citizens, and the greater world. WHEREAS, Plymouth has taken these steps because the 'City believes that protecting the environment is an integral part of providing the high quality of life .which Plymouth provides to its citizens. WHEREAS the Inter -Governmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), a group of the international communities' respected scientists, states that global warming is largely the .effect of human activities and affects natural systemsthroughout the world. CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 2006 APPROVING REVISIONS TO THE PLYMOUTH'S GREENHOUSE GAS REDUCTION RESOLUTION WHEREAS, Plymouth has always placed a high priority on the environment. This prioritization is exhibited through its first-rate commitment to: -• creating parks which increase public access and enjoyment of nature; • creating an extensive system of trails and sidewalks which allow people to travel without the use of a car; • a water management plan which strives toward building a healthier environment; • thorough environmental considerations for new development including instituting aggressive regulations for protecting trees and water; • instituting anti -erosion policies and requiring wetland buffer zones; • encouraging native plantings, healthy wetlands, and tree preservation, and providing incentives for many of these types of efforts; • banning phosphorous fertilizers; preserving natural areas for their environmental importance to Plymouth, its citizens, and the greater world. WHEREAS, Plymouth has taken these steps because the City believes that protecting the environment is an integral part of providing the high quality of life which Plymouth provides to its citizens; and WHEREAS, global warming is in part the effect of human activities and natural systems that affect the world's climate; and WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has always been a leader in adoption of environmental protection ordinances, policies and practices, including existing practices that help to reduce the greenhouse gasses. These actions that Plymouth has already taken include the use of bio -diesel and hybrid technology in city fleets, implementing green building techniques, preservation of green -spaces, and the creation of extensive trails and sidewalks; and WHEREAS, these efforts are of a non-partisan nature and result in a higher quality of living for citizens through reduced energy bills, preservation of local forests, wetlands, and other habitats, increased air and water quality, reduced traffic, and sound transportation options. BE IT RESOLVED that because Plymouth firmly believes in environmental quality as a necessity to providing a high quality of life to its citizens, the City of Plymouth will endeavor to the extent practical to conserve energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in its governmental operations and buildings and encourage its citizens to take steps to reduce their own greenhouse gas emissions and promote energy conservation. Adopted by the City Council on June 27, 2006. O:\Engineering%WTRQLTY\ResoNgreenhouse gases reduclions_6_14_06.doc ,z4- DATE: June 14, 2006 TO: Laurie Ahrens, City Manager FROM: VCote, P.E., Director of Public Works SUBJECT: VICKSBURG RESERVOIR AND PUMPING STATION CITY PROJECT -NO. 3108 As you know, we had differing opinions from the City's consultants regarding our ability to fill the Vicksburg Reservoir. I'm pleased to report that over a period of approximately 30 hours, on June 9 and June 10, we were able to add approximately 5.5 million gallons to the reservoir. Our filling operations took place during the period between 9:00 am on June 9 and 2:30 pm on June 10, with negligible impact to the City's water system. We encountered minor draw -down on the County Road 101 Water Tower, but we were able to maintain the system integrity. Although we are not yet experiencing peak water demands, it appears as if we will be able to at least partially fill the reservoir during the evening hours, and during the noon to 5:00 sprinkling ban hours with negligible impact on the remaining water system. cc: Scott Newberger 15 0AEngineeringTROJECTS12000 - 2009\3109\Mcws\ aurie_Filling_Reservoir_6_14.doc City of Plymouth Engineering Department Active and Pending Public Improvement Projects ictiePiibtilin' riremellit.P.............................................................................................................................................................. p ............................... Wright County Highway Department received a number of phone calls after the mailing inquiring on the status of the projects noted on the postcard. • Membership: Karla stated that the Membership Committee is going to have a special meeting to discuss the goals & activities that the Coalition and Membership Committee should decide on. Based on that information that Coalition will have a better idea on what strategies, including membership dues and number of members, are needed to finance and accomplish the goals. Karla asked for volunteers to join the Membership Committee and asked if Ann Sheehan could replace Jeff Swenson and someone from Marthand Nookala's staff could replace Jane Etzel. Karla noted that Klein Bank has challenged the other banks in Buffalo to join the Coalition and Klein will match the other banks up to $500. Finally, the Membership Committee is going to try meeting at a regularly schedule date, the third Wednesday of the month to make it easier for members to schedule. 5. Financial Report: Wayne Fingalson handed out the Financial Report as of April 18, 2006. He noted the current fund balance of $9,339.64 with 2006 dues income of $9,650 coming in 2006 to date with additional dues payments made earlier in December, 2005 of $675. This amount is a little lower that in past years and shows a need for additional members. Wayne noted federal reimbursements of expenses of $41,400.00 through 2005 and expenses of $7,569.63 in 2006. Penny Steele requested that the individual name shown after the name of the governmental entity that is the member and paid the dues should be removed. It was the consensus of the Coalition to remove the contact individual's name from the financial report. On a motion by Nancy Carswell and second by Anne Hurlburt, the Financial Report was accepted. 6. Technical Advisory Committee/MnDOT Report: • TH 55 EA/EAW Status: Jim Grube stated that the RFP for the EA from I494 to Rockford was released on January 7, 2006 and on February 8, 2006 five proposals from consultants were received. A selection committee consisting of John Griffith and Claudia Dumont, MnDOT; Anne Hurlburt, City of Plymouth; Wayne Fingalson, Wright County; Marthand Nookala and Jim Grube, Hennepin County met to evaluate the proposals based on technical merit. After the technical ranking the separate cost proposal of each of the consultants was opened and the final 30% of the ranking points assigned proportional to the estimated costs in the proposal. Jim handed out a copy of the letter sent to each of the consultant firms that submitted proposals documenting the results of the Technical and Financial Reviews and the final ranking. SRF Consulting Group, Inc. ranked the highest and the Hennepin County Board has authorized Jim to negotiate a contract with SRF. Jack Russek and Penny Steele both acknowledged that this was a good and thorough process used in the consultant selection. Jim introduced Rick Brown who will be the Principle -in -Charge of the EA for SRF. Rick handed out a draft schedule that has been developed in coordination with Hennepin County and MnDOT for the activities, deliverables and project meetings for the project. Rick noted that this is an aggressive schedule and there is still some fine tuning needed to the work tasks. Hennepin County, MnDOT and SRF are also still seeking input from public officials on how they want to be involved in the public participation process. Rick went through the draft schedule noting the project is broken into three sections—Concept Development, Layout Preparation & Environmental Analysis and Layout & Document Review & Approval. Recommendation of the Preferred Alignment will be based on public input and engineering data. SRF will attend the Coalition's meetings either when invited or when there is information to provide to the Coalition. The Coalition's Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) will serve as the project's TAC. There will be a pair of Open Houses, one prior to the Preferred Alternate decision and one near the end of the EA/EAW comment period. Council meetings are included and would be where the official presentation of the work is done. Council workshops would be use for dialogue with the cities. Jim Grube summarized the intent of the meetings is for Hennepin County/MnDOT & SRF to be available to the cities but not a burden on the cities. Goal is to answer questions. • TAC Federal Funding Recommendations: Wayne Fingalson first gave a status update of the projects previously approved by the Coalition for federal funding: -- CR 115/ Gabler Ave @ TH 55: The current schedule is for R/W acquisition in 2006 and construction in 2007. Nancy Carswell noted that the City Council this week called for the Public Need hearing on this project in order to move the project ahead. --Fernbrook Lane @ TH 55: The project is moving forward and there is no change in the schedule. --CR 134/Calder Ave @ TH 55: Wayne Fingalson noted that Wright County will prepare the PDR for the project. Wayne handed out maps and a funding matrix for the estimated $3.4 Million available to the Coalition from the reauthorization of ISTEA-LU. Wayne noted that there were 7 requests for $7.6 Million in federal funding. The 7 projects are estimated to cost over $13 Million. The projects are: CR 115/Gabler in Rockford — The project would include the realignment of CR 115 on the south and Gabler Avenue on the north to align them. This would eliminate the two poorly aligned t -intersections. The developers on both the north and south sides of TH 55 would participate in the majority of the cost which is estimated at $3.3 Million. It was noted that this project received $400,000 in FY03 federal funds from the Coalition in its last solicitation for right-of-way acquisition of property not owned by the developers. Wright County has committed $300,000 toward the project and it is hoped that MnDOT can contribute $50,000. The City is requesting $300,000 of federal funds. Autumn Oaks Drive/Electric Drive in Rockford — The City of Rockford is requesting $500,000 in federal funds for a project estimated to cost between $1 Million to $2 Million depending on the selection of the preferred option. The project has 3 options being studied. All options reduce access to TH 55 and provide for safer intersection designs. TH 55 in this area would be an urban design to fit into the available R/W. Also, with any of the options there are possible additional access closures that could be made; however, the City has not acted on these at this time. Contact: Wayne A. All 3 projects are very early in the project development process. The requests ask for federal funds to pay for 80% of each of the projects but understand that the amount may be less. The projects requested are: 1. CR 116 @ TH 55 — Total cost of $3.725 Million with federal funds requested of $2.98 Million. Project would include widening of CR 115 and CR 116 approaches to TH 55 to provide additional channelization. Provide for dual left turn lanes on CR 116. Eliminate accesses to TH 55 on the north side both east and west of CR 116. Move accesses on CR 116 further away from TH 55 on the north side. Construct backage road on north side of TH 55 to provide access to properties. Replace railroad crossing signal system and existing intersection traffic control signal system. This project would be the City's highest priority. MnDOT has committed to $500,000 in 2009 for the backage road/access elimination work. 2. CSAH 19 @ TH 55 — Total cost is $2.7 Million with federal funds requested of $2.16 Million. Project would widen the south leg on CSAH 19 for safety improvements. Reconstruct the intersection with TH 55 including channelization. Construct a backage road to remove access to TH 55 on the south side of the road. Move existing accesses on CSAH 19 further south of TH 55. Install a new traffic control signal system at the intersection. 3. CSAH 101 @ TH 55 —Total cost is $1.1 Million with federal funds requested of $880,000. Project would construct a pedestrian bridge over TH 55 connection to the Hennepin County Regional Trail system. CR 134 (Calder Ave) in Buffalo — This project has received federal funds from the Coalition to acquire the R/W needed for CR 134 realignment at the intersection. This request is for construction funding with the City of Buffalo putting the $200,000 that Menard's is committed toward transportation improvements as part of their new store to this project. Currently the request for funding is for a signal and realignment of CR 134, but to avoid a bottleneck with TH 55 going down from 4 lanes to just 2 lanes at the intersection, TH 55 will need to be widened at an estimated cost of $2.5 Million plus right-of-way cost. • CSAH 12, 0.3 miles west of Buffalo ---Wayne reviewed the request for $380,000 in federal funds on the project estimated to cost $475,000. Intersection improvements of a traffic signal and turn lanes are needed due to the new school near the intersection that will open in 2006. The project is deliverable for construction in 2006 if funding is available. No right-of-way is needed on this project. The improvements would be considered permanent due to the time period before TH 55 would be upgraded in this area. As shown in the funding matrix below, not all of the projects can be funded with the federal funds presently available. However, this list of projects and additional projects that will be identified in the future show the need for improvements on TH 55 and will be helpful in presentations to our congressional and legislative delegations. We also need to spend the funds already received to show we have projects that can be done and that we need more funds to continue to make improvements. Contact: Wayne A. Late last year, MnDOT agreed that the funds could be used, but now FHWA is saying they cannot be used. Given the limited text that could be inserted into ISETEA-LU, many of the projects listed, including a number of projects earmarked by Congressman Oberstar, are having the same problem with the current FHWA position. Penny Steele asked if we have a backup plan for using the federal funds if FHWA prevails. At this time the funds can be used for environmental/traffic studies and right-of-way acquisition. However, until the EA's are completed which will be at least a year from, now, MnDOT cannot acquire the right-of-way. On a motion by Marvin Johnson and seconded by Mike Messina the TAC recommendation for funding the requested projects as shown above was approved contingent on FHWA changing their position on the use of the federal funds or congressional action clarifying the use of the funds. When the final decision is made on the use of the federal funds, Brad will send out an email to members notifying them of the action. 7. TH 55 Transit in Wright County -Update: Mayor Fred Nocktgebor of Buffalo introduced Bob Kortum the chair of the city's Transportation Committee to update the Coalition on the transit plan. In February, 2006 the committee had an idea to consider transit along TH 55 in Wright County. A similar transit service was being done by Great River Transit, a private company that provides service between Hudson, Wisconsin and the Twin Cities. During discussions with Great River Transit it was noted that there may be a need for a financial safety net in order to cover expenses exceeding revenue when the service first got started. Working with Senator Koch and Representative Anderson, draft legislation was prepared with approval by both the House and Senate Transportation Committee chairs. Another requirement was that an agency was needed to oversee the transit service and handle the funding. Initially, the TH 55 Corridor Coalition was considered but without getting approval by the Coalition and the need to act prior to the next Coalition meeting, the City of Buffalo agreed to be the administrator of the transit service. The reason for the start date is the TH 241 will be closed for construction and even with a marked detour it is expected that many motorists will use TH 55 as an alternate route. The bus service provides another option for commuters. The bus schedule was determined based on a survey by the City. She further noted that there never was any intent to have money come from MnDOT's transit fund and will work with Claudia Dumont and MnDOT on getting the appropriate language in the bill. The type of funding would be a revolving loan to be paid back from the fare box. The bill would also have a competitive bid process included. The bill will be amended on to the Transportation Omnibus bill (SF 375 1) In response to questions, Bob Kortum stated that the project will go forward with or without the state funding. He feels that there is enough interest for this service to make it successful. He used his wife's commute to the Twin Cities paying at least $60/ week in gas as an example that the bus service can provide a viable alternative. Lisa Raduenz stated that the Hudson/Twin Cities route is subsidized and is not breaking even. The goal for this service is just to break even. 8. Legislative Updates • Federal: It was repeated that MnDOT has determined that the $4 Million recently authorized for TH 55 can also be used for safety improvement projects, but the FHWA is not agreeing with that determination. • State: Senator Koch updated the Coalition on activities/legislation at the legislature noting the three main transportation issues are Eminent Domain, Bonding bill and the MVET Constitutional Amendment 9. We do not like to watch a bunch of drunks. I'm calling about Polka Spotlight - The Dale Damon band. It looks like it's a lot of drunks - not at the station. It is not very fun. We are watching Polka Spotlight and the last couple days have been really bad today. Bad lighting and sound I'm calling about Polka Spotlight. There a lot of drunks on there and they are dancing with drinks in their hands and a lot of them are under age. I don't think this is appropriate at all. This is message for Polka Spotlight. We don't like watching a bunch of drunks. Please get back to the regular Polka Spotlight. Polka Spotlight is terrible today. It's a bunch of drunks. You have so many good bands to play and I watch every day,. I've been trying to get about the program. This is Al Birch. Today was not good. Very dark and noisy and nothing to watch today. What happened? CITIES OF DESTRUCTION My name is Josh and I am watching the tree removal. This program seems very biased in that they showed degradation but not the good side of things. This is the Karl Berg family from Plymouth and we are watching The Chimelewski Brothers. We are celebrating our 60th wedding anniversary on March 2. We like you show. Mexicans love to polka but you have no Latinos on your show. Please dedicate a song to us. This is Stan Ziegler. Please dedicate a song for me. The old Pollack from NE MPLS. I'm watching The great Chimelewski band and this is a great program. Keep going because dancing is great. I just finished watching Polka Spotlight and I watch it every day and I wanted to thank you for having the Chimelewski's on because I think they are the best. CITIES OF DESTRUCTION I can't believe they are destroying 6300 trees. Did the people ever get a chance to vote on this or anything? This is absolutely disgusting. Viewer Response February 28, 2006 CITIES OF DESTRUCTION I am calling from Stillwater and saw a show about the removal of trees in Plymouth. It was extremely touching and the music and everything with it was done so well. Unfortunately, it is a tragedy when nature is destroyed like that. I just wanted you to know that it was done very well. POLKA This is Florence in New Hope. I am watching The Squires and they are the best. Thanks for putting them on for me. I move on Thursday so I won't see them again. Thank -you so much. Real happy with the orchestra that is playing now. Please play a song for everyone at the Apple Valley Villas from Al. I haven't seen the Nite Owls for a long, long time. Are they still in business? I like to watch this show. What year was this actually done? I am calling about the Polka Spotlight and my wife and I love Bev. She's great and lots of fun and keeps it going and the dancers are fun too. Ya, keep up the good work - it makes our day! Viewer Response November V. 2005 POLKA This is Florence in New Hope. Thank -you for putting "The Squires" on. I really missed them when I was in the nursing home and I like Bev. They are an active band. Put "The Squires" on more because I really missed them. We're watching Polka Spotlight on channel 6 and it seems like this channel has a buzzing sound in it. I don't know if that is just our TV or if it is this way for everyone. I warm to, order tapes from the polka show from_channel 6 but I don't have any results of being able to do that. CITIES OF DESTRUCTION It's great to see progress in the city of Plymouth. You all have a great day. I'm watching the problem of destroying 12 middle class homes for the obscene benefit of the developers in Maple Grove. I think this is terrible. Money - developers are benefiting? This is crazy. Gross negligence on somebody's part? It's terrible. I would appreciate a response to this. 858-776-0546. Again I hope I get a response. I'm watching the TV where they are destroying all those buildings. What in the world do they do with all that wood and garbage. Where do they discard that? I'm watching channel 20 @ 8pm about the homes being torn down in Maple Grove. I'm calling with positive feedback. This is about tearing down houses so that developers can put up huge and obscene homes. I'm telling my neighbors about this. It is interesting that there are more trees being torn down for more development. Thanks for the good show. COOKING WITH RICHARD The guy is unbelievable. I don't know where he came from or where his accent came from but that spatula is part of that dish now and I would never eat something like that. Viewer Response November 3, 2005 POLKA My parents watch the polka show everyday. Could Bev please say hi to them? They would just love that. Mr. & Mrs. Leslie Dorman I would like to comment on the polka music. It is so beautiful I exercise to it. It is so wonderful. Thanks so much. I guess what I wanted is what the station would be in Mound? CITIES OF DESTRUCTION I'm watching this program this evening about tearing down homes. There are a lot of homeless people and here we are tearing down homes just so developers can build big expensive homes. It is terrible that we do this and not take care of the poor. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. I think the tearing sown of that home in Mg is absolutely horrible. And then we're building Habitat for humanity. That was a good house they torn down. I think the tearing down of that home in MG is just awful. Why are they doing it? It's not for a freeway it pays for the developers. What right do they have to do this? I think it is dreadful. Just calling to let you know that I'm watching Twin Cities Soundz. They have a good singer. Please play for me The Teresa Polka. I am polish myself. HOT FOOT STOMPERS I would like to find out where the square dancing is on channel 19 or 20. We have never been able to get it.763-591-5968. Viewer Response November 4, 2005 POLKA This is Florence in New Hope. I'm watching Hank Thunander band. I appreciate them so much. He is one of my favorite bands. Thanks I'd like to request for Lloyd and Reva Rue in Coon Rapids. We love this show and we've been watching for about 5-1/2 years. Thanks November 6, 2005 I'm watching the show where you are tearing down those -houses. It's one of the most interesting shows I've ever seen. I'm watching .about the tearing down of houses in Maple Grove. I don't think that is right because people like me and my family aren't wealthy enough to afford those big houses but they can buy those houses from us. And I think it's terrible that people like us aren't given a chance - only the wealthy get everything. They shouldn't tear down all those beautiful houses. Why don' they move into those buildings that are empty and then they torn down all those beautiful houses to put up another CV5 Pharmacy - like we really needed thatlll I was just watching the tearing down of the houses in Maple Grove. It is really kind of a concern that these developers can seize these houses and yet Maple Grove has all these regulations about how high you can hang a sign or whatever and then they tear down these house. 763-720-3562 Maple Grove has gotten to be so unruly and the government just takes over and destroys people's lives. Tthank-you. Viewer Response November 8, 2005 POLKA It's wonderful and it brings back memories of my childhood. We always had this kind of music around our house. We're watching Polka Spotlight and enjoying it thoroughly. We hope the programming continues. We watch Polka Spotlight every noon. We were wondering why they had the same program yesterday and today. I'm watching Polka Spotlight. It's terrific and I hope you have many, many more. What year was the program that is on now taped in? I'm watching Polka Spotlight. They used to have a dance called the Shottish. Do they do any more? I love this program. The people are all my age. I am 85. I grew up with this. My dad played the concertina and us girls played the piano. I love this. Keep it up. I would like to speak to Bev Rambough. I thought if I called right after the show she would be available. I'm watching your polka music. The dancers are fun and the music is good. I was really surprised today that they were dancing to a song called "What a Friend we Have in Jesus." Maybe that doesn't matter to people but it does me. CITIES OF DESTRUCTION I think this is a strange tree hugging show that you are putting on. It says that it is happening now but that is spring growth. And also these men are doing it responsibly. I think this quite an emotional show. I think we need to think about the people habitat and not worry about the animal habitat. We have been responsibly managing our resources for 200 years in this country. I had an opossum in my yard tonight. I think this an emotional - well - I'll stop there. This is a responsible act, filmed irresponsibly by you. BLACK SKY CINEMA Happy Monday. They have country and polka together and I just love to sit here and watch. Thank -you very much. Thank -you for playing songs for me. I listen every day and thank -you for playing a song for my 91" birthday. This is Lois in Edina. I wasn't ready for you today. I didn't think you would have the Polkateers on for a long time. You surprised me. This is June in Brooklyn Center. Where can we watch The Squires in Apple Valley and Burnsville? We have several people that would like your bands to play in Apple Valley and Burnsville? Some place south of the river. Thanks This is Mike. I would like to order some tapes of Barefoot Becky. I just am wondering where the polka rally takes place because I would like to attend it. It's a really good show especially this time of the year. This is Florence in New Hope. I am watching The Polkateers and they are a good country band. I really enjoy them. I was just watching Polka Spotlight and the Chimilewski's were playing. I really enjoy them. Keep up the good work. CITIES OF DESTRUCTION I'm watching your destruction films of Maple Grove's woods and trees. If your city planners have a brain in their heads, have them take a trip to California and stay for a couple of weeks and then come back here and drive through Blaine, Coon Rapids, Walnut Creek and let them see how bad things are going to be in 20 years. There is no restoration for what we've done and continue to do. All for the sake of a dollar. Viewer Response November 17, 2005 CITIES OF DESTRUCTION I'm watching the show about the Maple Grove destruction. I had a similar thing happen in Bemidji where they tore down houses to put up government buildings. I just feel like the community should have a say about things like this. There are a lot of other spots they could build and we are taxpayers and this is a waste of tax dollars. November 18, 2005 POLKA I'm watching polka and I want a tape of this family. They played in the Mood. How do I get their tape? It was wonderful. November 19, 2005 misc. It's Saturday night. We're listening to an orchestra. It seems like they are out of a doncehall. It seems funny that they, would have this swing band in a church. Maybe we will start to go to church more. November 20, 2005 CITIES OF DESTRUCTION I'm looking at the TV in the middle of the night, 12 homes seized for the developers. Trees coming down. Unbelievable, unbelievable. I guess the rich just pay each other off with games to the Timberwolves and banquets and whatever, smoozing and take what they want. Some day they'll get there's. They will. Viewer Response November 27, 2005 MISC. It's Sunday and I am watching a cooking show with 2 small children. It is so nice to see them cooking together and I have enjoyed this program. I hope I see it again. I'm watching the City of Maple Grove counsel and there is no sound. It looks like you are doing a Christmas Tribute. It looks like it's a few years old. Van Morrison and other stuff. They are really good. Great programming on the musicians. Thanks November 28, 2005 POLKA I'm watching your polka dancing. I'm Ruth and I am 92 years old and I dance with my walker. I hope this continues cause I love your bands. I was wondering if you have stations in Mankato or Austin? Lawrence Miller. 952-423-1600. We love the Polka Show. The program is very nice "Twin Lakes Trio." I was wondering about the Wee Willy of 10/15. You have run the* first tape but not the second and it is better. Please run the second tape. CITIES OF DESTRUCTION I'm watching the show about Plymouth being destroyed and wondering where this development is and how we can protest? 7635501809 Janet Sieverson I'm just wondering about these trees being destroyed. Who is responsible for this? 7634738326 Viewer Response November 29, 2005 This is Len Collson763-473-8326 and I am wondering what took place when all these trees were destroyed? Can someone call me about this and give me some information? This is Florence in New Hope. I'm watching The Country Polkateers and they are a good family band. They play a lot of good music and Joyce is a good singer. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. This is June from Brooklyn Center. Thanks Bev and John for The Polkateers on for me. Thank -you, Thank -you, thank -you. They make my day. I'm watching polka and I would like to know where it is and how to get involved in it. Do I call channel 12 or what? I really like Hank Thunander. He is the best of all. This is Lois in Edina and I watch every day. Please dedicate a song to me. I would like to know how I order a tape for polka? Viewer Response October 2, 2005 CITIES OF DESTRUCTION I'm watching destruction of the forests of Maple Grove. It outrages me. I am totally disappointed in the city of Maple Grove. There's no schedule. How do you know what is on? All you have is a guy laying on the couch. No programs for 2 hours. I need to talk to somebody about advertising? I am with GV Women of Today. We do little "coffee Talks" every once in awhile. We were just wondering if we could find out a way to get a little plug for this club. Or maybe on the community events could advertise for us put a little blurb in therefor us 952-393-6638 Kimberely Charles October 3, 2005 POLKA I would like my parents 59th anniversary announced Lawrence(Dottie) & Verna Weierke of Farmington from their daughter Wendy and please play the Beer Barrel Polka. 952-997- 6163 and we really enjoy your show. Thank you for the [)VD's and the figurines from Matt Wooldrige. I will be watching you and thanks for everything you do. Viewer Response October 5, 2005 CITIES OF DESTRUCTION I want to know who is paying for this ad? Why would the city pay to run something like this because it seems like it is anti -development? There should be some explanation for it. Maybe you should show what has gone in there with the people in their back yards and kids playing. Even downtown MPLS was all trees at one time and New Hope and all the rest. This isn't a very fair picture of what is real. If you're going to show the bad you should show the good too!, This is Karen Reos and I'm watching how they are wiping out 40 acres of trees. Do they realize how long it takes to grow mature trees like that? Planting a few trees along the roadside will never replace what was cut in our lifetime. It's disgusting!! POLKA This is Lois in Edina. Today is Hank Thunander. He can play the accordion better than anybody. Please dedicate a song to me. I enjoy your polka party. I would like to talk to John or Bev with a comment. 952-445-2646 I'm watching Polka Spotlight. I wish they would interview other people rather than always the same ones. I'm a care giver for Grace in Hastings. Could you dedicate a song to her. She loves your show. Thank -you I'm interested in the polka program. I am wondering how you get to go to it . 763-315-3163. Thank -you Viewer Response October 7, 2005 POLKA I was wondering if Bev could call us about ordering those tapes she was talking about. 952- 926-7424. I've been watching Dale Daemen. He's one of the better bands you've had on. He's such a joy to watch. And the crew worked together well to. I justwatched Bev Rambough and I enjoy her and the bands so much!!! We just watched the polka show with the Beats and they were one of the best shows you've had on for a long time. I enjoy the old time music every day. Could you give me a number for the bands that are on there? I'm sick but am enjoying this tonight. First Hank Thunander and now Dale Daemon. They are doing a great job. John and Bev - you know how to pick'em. October 9, 2005 CITIES OF DESTRUCTION Its 2:52 on Sunday afternoon. It's a funeral for a bunch of dead trees. I'm very upset with Maple Grove and their decision to put up those cheesy little boxes they call townhomes. So I'll just sit here on a Sunday afternoon and cry!!! MISC. I recognize that guy from the historical society. He's a good Loin's member. He's a good worker. They are doing such a good job preserving history. Thank -you for showing these people. Viewer Response October 11, 2005 POLKA Danke, Danke, Danke Shuen for having this band back. They are the best band in the whole state of Minnesota. This is Lorraine Lally. I am kind of home bound. I would like to know where you are playing. I would like to get out to see your people. I don't know where you are located and I would like to get out there to see you. 612-636-0093 CITIES OF DESTRUCTION I just had to call about all the trees and I think it's a great video and we all feel so sad about it. We just had to call to comment. Viewer Response October 12, 2005 • 411 I called in before about the sax player. I love the way he dances around. We watch every day. I am enjoying the program very much. The Polka Party. They mentioned "Kulachi Days" and I didn't catch where that was being held. Could someone get back to me @ 651-456-9263 and let me know where it is held and when. This is Dana Nelson from Stillwater. I'm curious about the address you have listed. The zip code is 55128 - but that is Oakdale not St. Paul. Keep up the good work The camera men do a great and job and the whole show is just super. Hi Bev and John. This is June fromBrooklyn Center and I'm watching Barefoot Becky. In the other room I'm taping the Polkateers and in another room I'm taping another Polkateers. Keep up the good work. I really appreciate what you are doing. CITIES OF DESTRUCTION I'm watching all the trees being cut down on this public channel. I think this is just sick. It is horrible what they are doing to all those trees. There's your feedback! I'm watching all those houses in Maple Grove that are looking for company and that's a disgrace. That is awful and then the way the storm came and took down all the rest of them They should have waited. Old Mr. Weather took care of them. That guy that does the filming is a master. The targets he picks and the scenery is so beautiful - it would have been better if they were standing up instead of laying down. And the music is marvelous. Even if you don't like what is going on the music is still beautiful. Some day this guy is going to get a 6 figure job. TWIN CITIES BEATS My name is Jason Richardson and I am a CEO of a record company-Plathamira Records. I have been watching Twin Cities Beats. Why all the re -runs? 651-633-0075 We were just watching the polka party and we noticed Darald and Kathy are there. We were wondering why he is not there so much. Has he been ill? I'm watching Polka Spotlight and I want to get a request for Wee Willie on Saturday. Can he play "Mockingbird Hill" or "On Top of old Smokey?" This is Hans Anderson from St. Paul. CITIE5 OF DE5TRUCTION We're watching the Maple Grove tree trimming project. What is that all about? Are they putting in a super market or widening the highway? We'd like to know. 651-489-6937 Viewer Response October 15, 2005 CITIES OF DESTRUCTION I think it's absolutely deplorable. I wonder how much money the council is putting in their pockets from the developers. It's absolutely horrible. I've lived in Plymouth for 26 years and this is bad. I really and truthfully believe that those people that are knocking all those trees down should lie taken out into the woods and whipped until they can't say ouch. I'm looking at a fox and he's wondering where am I supposed to go now. My name is Maryjo Betner and I'm watching the destruction of trees in Plymouth. I live near there and it is just horrible at how fast this destruction is done. I am angry at the mayor for allowing this to happen. I have e-mailed the mayor and other council people and of course have gotten no response. Viewer Response October 16, 2005 CITIES OF DESTRUCTION I live in Plymouth and I love living in Plymouth because of the trees. This program has made me very angry because I love Plymouth because of the trees. Why??? My name is Renee Hill and I live in Plymouth. I am highly disturbed by what I see destroying the nature and the trees. What can I do to get this to stop??? I'Mwwyatching the trees being cut down and the -enjoying the fact that they are coming down. Thanks I'm absolutely appalled at all the trees they are taking down in Maple Grove. I'd like more info about that and I am very, very sad. October 16, 2005 POLKA I'm watching the Squires and it was great to see that it was 2005. I love to watch the dancers and Bev and John are terrific. I'd like to know where you are and go and meet some of these great little dancers. CITIES OF DESTRUCTION I'm watching the destruction of Maple Grove. Boy I bet a lot of people moved out there because of all the trees and the creek. It is such a nice area. The trees were cleansing the area and now they take it out. I bet the people that live there are disappointed to have all the trees removed. 2400 tress. What a shame. Just like a preserve. Money, money, money. I bet the council members are getting something. The cameraman is just terrific I'm watching the city of Maple Grove city council meeting and there is no sound. Viewer Response October 18, 2005 CITIES OF DESTRUCTION I'm watching BSC - Gets better and better. I love the characters on there especially Rock and Roll Ray. Shreek is the best. Keep playing them. Someday the real Shreek will be on in Hollywood. POLKA Please tell Bev Rambough to play "Beautiful. Beautiful Brown Eyes." I'm enjoying watching the Country Polkateers but I would like to know where they are playing. Could you -announce that on the air?? I was watching Polka Spotlight and I would like the number for Country Polkateers. This is for Bev. I would like to get a cd from them. 763-754-7578, Gloria Smith. Could we have the address for Bev Rambough? We want to write to her. We love the program that Bev Rambough has on and the polka music. Could you let us have the address so we can write to her please?? Hi Bev and John, I am having a ball. Yesterday and today. I am running out of tapes. I taped Becky and the Polkateers and thanks so much for having these kids on!! Hi Bev and John. This is June from Brooklyn Center. Thanks for getting the Polkateers on channel 6. And John could you get Becky to bring the whole band like she did at the fair? Thanks so much and don't work so hard!!! CITIES OF DESTRUCTION I come downstairs and this beautiful music is coming from my TV and it's the show that that guy filmed all those trees coming down in Plymouth. That camera guy - poor trees. Two weeks ago we lost them all over the area and everyone was so sad - this doesn't seem to bother them though. Beautiful work and beautiful pictures. My name is John Dahl and I have been a resident of Plymouth for several years and I love Plymouth. I know it's difficult to stop growth and development. But I think that there needs to be a line drawn especially where there is habitat and nature destroyed. I don't think that helps the community. I think there needs to be some regulation for preserving these areas - even if the city has to buy it! Turn it into city land or parks and that way residents can enjoy the land and natural areas even though we live in the city. I don't know what we can do to stop the development of these areas but I think we need to do something. Viewer Response October 19, 2005 CITIES OF DESTRUCTION My name is Cammie and I am watching a little bull dozer in Plymouth decimating all of Plymouth. It is probably the most tragic thing I've ever seen If there is anything I can do from an environmental standpoint please call me. 876-3442-0007 I was watching the show about all the trees being destroyed in Plymouth and now I wonder what is the point? Obviously we don't want the trees torn down. There was no information about how we can stop it or whatever. Only a phone number and I guess that's what I'm doing • - Well this is Carol and I am disgusted to see what is happening to our wildlife. Isn't there enough land around without all the beautiful trees? My number is 763-420-4785. I'd like to have more comments about this, thank -you First of all it makes me sick to see all the tress destroyed and secondly you should put the number on more often than you do so that people can call in. I don't know what the purpose is of this program and you don't explain it. I don't like - but why don't you describe it. It just makes people sick watching and then not able to do anything. POLKA This is Francis Neilson and we watch every day and today Darold was there. We were wondering if he was OK. We saw Kathy but not Darold and we were concerned. Thank -you TWIN CITY BEATS This is Chris Patrick host of "Living Adventure" and I'm watching "Twin City Beats." Now he thinks his show is good, but we all know who the true king of local cable is. It's me and "Living Adventure." My show is exciting,it has sky diving, sailing. It has me on court with the North High Ladies Polars. It has me at Autovation with beautiful women. Nature thinks he's the king but we all know who the king really is - it's me and Mr Shreek! Print that and tell Nature - he knows what's up! "Living Adventure" King of NWCT. COOKING WITH ETHAN My name is Randy 6122726397 and I'm watching Cooking with Ethan and I was wondering if you were looking to hire a new cook for the show. Give me a call. Viewer Response October 20, 2005 I just wanted to tell you that I watch Polka Spotlight and you have some very f ine dancers. Especially today - it's a man with a mustache and white hair and his lady has black slacks and a gray shirt and I think you need to call him up and ask questions because you do everyone else. This is Lois in Edina and.I watch every day and I like Hank Thunander and thanks for dedicating songs to me. I'm watching the polka show. They have country music on today. I wish they could have half and half with polka and country. We're watching Polka Spotlight and Alan Godage is on. We were wondering if this is new group Alan is with and where is his daughter? I wanted to know if you had the address for the Alan Godage Band? CITIES OF DESTRUCTION You know the Lord works in mysterious ways. Here they are cutting down all those trees in Maple Grove making sawdust. He showed us the quick way to do it.!! October 24, 2005 PLAYBACK This is for the playback people concerning Black Sky cinema. It's supposed to be part one for my Halloween Show. It's playing last week's show again. I don't know why. It kind of messes up my Halloween plans for the show. Like a hundred times now I've had problems. I really, really upset, sick and tired of it! Period. Thanks a lot! October 25, 2005 I am speaking directly into my phone and I would like to know why this is being done? Give me an answer!! I'd like some more information. I'd like to get on a mailing list or something. Bill Stangl, 3421 Kent St. Shoreview, 55126 Thank -you HOT FOOT STOMPERS What time is the program on? It's the square dancing one and we don't always get it. We're watching the square dancing and we want to know what time it's on in Golden Valley on cable. CITIES OF DESTRUCTION The destruction of the trees in Plymouth and I believe that in 10 years Plymouth is going to suffer a loss and their work there will be vanquishing. Thank -you. My name is Barry and I'm calling about a program about destroying landmarks to build apartments. 973-493-0432 and I would appreciate if someone would call me about getting a transcript or video of that presentation. Thank -you. We were just wondering if that -wood would be available because we need wood for our cabin up north for our fireplace. Someone noticed - besides me. It is so hard to see these go. It's so stupid to sit here and cry over the loss of land. I know what happened there. I'm sitting here crying about trees being cut down. All it's for is so some people can live in their big, ugly mansions up so people can feel proud of themselves. My name is Lisa Tap and I have lived here since I was 5 years old and I am now 47. I am not a crazy liberal. I can see what is happening. And now I see our land being destroyed and for what?? I am so glad there is someone else out there that mourns the loss of this land. My name is Lisa 612-720-3072 It just dawned on me that the reason they had to get those trees down so fast is so that they can make some money from it and they want to get it done before the wind blows them down. Pretty soon it will look like Golden Valley - no trees. It's a disgrace. THE SHAKEY SHAMON Shakey Shamon we worship you and your stringless guitar too!!! We love your show and we worship you! Viewer Response September 5, 2005 POLKA This is Florence in New Hope. I'm watching Hank Thunander. He is the best accordion player. I enjoy him very much. Thank -you. This is Ruth from Lino Lakes. I want you to know I dance inside my walker. I have others dancing too. I am 91 years old. I enjoy the music so much. I hope you get my name on!!! CITIES OF DESTRUCTION I'm calling about those trees being cut down. If you don't want the trees cut down you need to buy the land yourself. Minneapolis wouldn't be here if we didn't cut down trees. All the other channels work fine - but 19 has been blurred for 3 days. My anniversary special I worked -on for 3 weeks is ruined. People came in and took off work and its all ruined - down the drain. BLACK SKY CINEMA Hello- This is Matt Wooldridge watching the Anniversary Show. It's great. I liked the little skit. Just sitting back and enjoying. This is Matt Wooldridge - Hello -o -o -o -o -o Mr. Shreek has got to be #1. Your whole television station has taken a 180 degree reversal. Scotty's improved, all kinds of people have improved their shows because of Mr. Shreek and its such a shame that on his 2nd Anniversary the show had to be all scrambled tonight. There were about 50 people who were involved and all the time and the time taken off from work. Perhaps you need to put out the extra $8.00/hour to have someone there on weekends to double check things so they work smooth. Get on the board of directors and tell them You can't do this. One of these days Mr. Shreek is going to walk out and a lot of other people will walk with him. It just won't have the same spirit that they've gained since Mr. ShreeKs been there. What a shame. It sounds like he's going out the back door. He's as great guy and works hard. I see Steve and Kevin on Mr. Shreek's show tonight. It's too bad the rest of the picture and value is dirt. I do like Steve and Kevin and Mr. Shreek. I'm praying that Barb or Tamisha of someone will get on the air and publicly announce that the quality is not Mr. Shreek's fault but technical difficulties from within the NWCT-that's the only fair thing to do. If that's not done I'll have to go above you because it's not fair. The repercussions he's received from others in the past were too humiliating. He almost quit - but I do love Steve. Black Sky Cinema is hysterically funny. It is the best show you have had on. All your shows are funny. Kevin I love your mask. I want one before Halloween. Where did you get it? I love all of you Mr. Shreek. Keep it up! This is concerning playback operations for channel 19. A couple of weeks ago it was 18 hours with out programming. Then it was 3 hours the other day without programming and now its been three days. Channel 19's been a blur. The lack of attention in playback is alarming - really alarming. Viewer Response September 6, 2005 POLKA I'm calling about Polka Spotlight with Bev and John. Is there any way we can leave a dedication for them? 951-445-3890 Robin or Mary . I was just wondering how to get a tape of the show? Paul Anderson 952-926-7424 We love your show!! This is Florence in New Hope. I'm watching The Squires. They are the best band you've got outside Hank Thunander. I enjoy them very much. -Thank -you BLACK SKY CINEMA Hello. This is fro Mr. Shreek, Matt Wooldridge. I just want to say you've made it to the big time. You're now advertised on Channel 7 TV Guide. Happy Anniversary!! Have a good day. Hey Black Sky Cinema is really cool. Mr. Shreek is great. We all think you're pretty cool!! CITIES OF DESTRUCTION I'm watching channel 20 - wondering what this is all about. It says city of Maple Grove. It is not the city but the county. It appears the blame is going to the city when it should be the county. Dave Nye 763-420-7432. Viewer Response September 8, 2005 POLKA This is Florence in New Hope. I'm watching The Squires. I watch every time they're on. They are fantastic. They put a lot of expression and energy into their show. Thank -you. Tow of my favorite dancers re Darrel and Kathy. On the recent shows I've seen -Kathy but no Darrel. Can you let me know what happened to him? I'm calling about The Wee Willy Band. Are they playing right now or is it a tape and where are they playing? It's Friday 9/9 I'm watching Polka. The fella that's on there right now passed away two years ago. Could you put some newer shows on? I want Bev or John to call me about getting some tapes - especially Barefoot Becky. Paul Anderson 952-926-7424. Keep up the good work Bev. CITIES OF DESTRUCTION I'm absolutely disgruntled. I can't imagine cutting down all this beautiful woodland. What are they going to do with it? Where do they get all that equipment? Do you have to vote to get this done? I live in N St/ Paul and I can't believe that all these lovely trees planted lovingly and now they are all being cut down. What I want to know is what is going to take the place of these beautiful trees? I just happened on this program this pm. A senior citizen - when I see the devastation that's going on in MG. What's going in there? I see the trees are marked with red - are they elm and being destroyed? I'm very upset at seeing the devastation. I'm watching the program with the tree removal. I am enjoying the program because it does make me aware of what is going on around me. All the wetland being destroyed and the natural habitat. I wish there was something we could do to stop this from happening. Obviously this is too late for this area. My name is Derrik Hooten. I was watching the show about the Holy Koran. I want to know how I can join you. Please call me and let me know!! Hey I'm watching channel 6. I would like to know where this place is so we can come there and dance. Would you put that in the beginning of the show so we can know? CITIES OF DESTRUCTION You know that tree harvest in MG is so sad and sickening to see the destruction. I lost two trees at my residence this yenr and we don't know what we're going to do. To see all those big trees token down is so sad. Purposely taking down those trees for health reasons and how good it is to have moisture and all the other reasons too. This is awful the people enthat to the music all day. That guy it they must be having a party or something. The music is so beautiful. I could that takes these pictures - we should fix him up with a girlfriend or something so he doesn't have all the time to take these pictures that make us so sad or else a big bonus. I think it terrible that we're ruining our land and all the animals are being forced into the city. We're ruining our nature. We don't need all these businesses. We should start worrying about our land instead of spoiling it. We should keep some of the history we have instead of all these businesses that don't care about the little people. And we have crime and too many people. I do think we should stop cutting down these trees. We don't need any more houses or apartments buildings - we have enough people in the US now.
