RESOLUTION NO. 2001-439
APPROVING AGREEMENT FOR
MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNAL SYSTEMS
AGREEMENT NO. PW 24-17-01
WI-1EREAS, the City currently has six traffic control signal systems under its jurisdiction, the
maintenance of which is the City's responsibility; and
WIffiREAS, these six traffic signal systems are located as follows:
1. County Road 61 and Bass Lake Playfield (between 55th Avenue and 54t1' Avenue).
2. Revere Lane and 6th Avenue.
3. 35th Avenue and Vicksburg Lane.
4. 36th Avenue and Vicksburg Lane.
5. Old Rockford Road and Peony Lane.
6. Carlson Parkway and Gleason Lake Drive.
and
WIffiREAS, the City's Street Maintenance personnel currently maintain the following
components of these traffic signal control systems which include relamping, cleaning and
painting, assuring power is available, and fidl maintenance of any attached street lights; and
WIffiREAS, other traffic control signal system components, including the master controller,
individual coordination equipment, emergency vehicle preemption equipment, interconnect cable
and conduit, and other operational components are maintained through contracts with private
signal contractors; and
WIffiREAS, the Hennepin County Transportation Department has a staff of traffic signal
technicians that are capable of all necessary maintenance involved with traffic control signal
systems, and who maintain the traffic control systems on the Hennepin County roadway systems
as well as some other cities within Hennepin County through a City/County agreement; and
VJ-1EREAS, the City of Plymouth feels that entering into an Agreement for Maintenance of
Traffic Control Signal Systems with Hennepin County would provide the City with high quality
and responsive service.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That Agreement No. PW 24-17-01, Agreement for
Maintenance of Traffic Control Signal Systems is hereby approved and the Mayor and
City Manager are authorized to sign this agreement.
Adopted by the City Council on October 9, 2001.
