HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2001-338CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION 2001-338 APPROVING FINDINGS OF FACT FOR A ZONING ORDINANCE TEXT AMENDMENT OF SECTION 21465 (C-3, HIGHWAY COMMERCIAL) TO ALLOW FURNITURE UNDER 5,000 SQUARE FEET (2001078) WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth finds it necessary to amend the Zoning Ordinance to permit fiirniture stores in the C-3 zoning district; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the text amendment relating to the regulation of fiirniture stores less than 5,000 square feet in area at a duly called Public Hearing and recommends approval; and WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted a Zoning Ordinance text amendment to allow fiirniture stores under 5,000 square feet; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, thatit should and hereby does approve the request for Zoning Ordinance text amendment to allow allow furniture under 5,000 square feet in the C-3 zoning district: 1. The amendment is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan. 2. The amendment meets the purpose and intent of the Ordinance. 3. There is adequate infrastructure available to serve the proposed action. 4. The ordinance standards will ensure that furniture stores the C-3 zoning district are operated in a manner that that does not adversely impact the public health, safety or aesthetics of the community.
