RESOLUTION 2001-231
APPROVING PLYMOUTH HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (HRA)
ACTION TO TERMINATE CONTRACT WITH WALKER MANAGEMENT, INC.
WHEREAS, the Plymouth Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) contracts with Walker
Management, Inc. for management and maintenance of Plymouth Towne Square, the HRA's 99 -
unit senior housing apartment building; and
WHEREAS, Walker Management, Inc. was chosen to manage the constriction and lease -up of
the project, and has continued in its ongoing management role in the six years since the building
was completed; and
WHEREAS, the HRA has indicated that they wish to consider the possibility of new management
or to renegotiate their contract with Walker Management; and
WHEREAS, the contract requires a 180 -day notice be given to Walker Management of the intent
to terminate the contract at the end of 2001; and
WHEREAS, the contract between the HRA and Walker Management requires the prior written
approval of the City of Plymouth, as the lender for the project,) prior to terminating the contract
or modifying it in any material way;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does approve the HRA's proposed
action to terminate its contract with Walker Management, Inc. to for the operation of Plymouth
Towne Square, effective December 31, 2001.
