RESOLUTION NO. 2001-174
RESOLUTION AMENDING THE ORGANIZATIONAL
MEMBERSHIP OF THE PUBLIC SAFETY ADVISORY BOARD
WHEREAS, the current make-up of the Public Safety Advisory Board is five (5)
citizen appointees, plus one (1) member each from the Police and Fire Department staffs;
and
WHEREAS, with the recent split of the Public Safety Department into separate
Police and Fire departments and the resignation of one of their citizen representatives, the
Advisory Board took the opportunity to re-evaluate their membership needs; and
WHEREAS, other boards and commissions of the City are made up of primarily
citizens, with staff acting as advisors and/or support and not voting members; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Advisory Board as well as staff believe this would
be a good time to change over the group to having all voting members be citizen
appointees with staff in a non-voting capacity continuing to work with the group to assist
them in accomplishing their projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, the City Council adopt the resolution amending the
organizational membership of the Public Safety Advisory Board to seven (7) voting
members, all of whom are citizen appointees of the City Council.
Adopted by the City Council on May 8, 2001.
