HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2001-174CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 2001-174 RESOLUTION AMENDING THE ORGANIZATIONAL MEMBERSHIP OF THE PUBLIC SAFETY ADVISORY BOARD WHEREAS, the current make-up of the Public Safety Advisory Board is five (5) citizen appointees, plus one (1) member each from the Police and Fire Department staffs; and WHEREAS, with the recent split of the Public Safety Department into separate Police and Fire departments and the resignation of one of their citizen representatives, the Advisory Board took the opportunity to re-evaluate their membership needs; and WHEREAS, other boards and commissions of the City are made up of primarily citizens, with staff acting as advisors and/or support and not voting members; and WHEREAS, the members of the Advisory Board as well as staff believe this would be a good time to change over the group to having all voting members be citizen appointees with staff in a non-voting capacity continuing to work with the group to assist them in accomplishing their projects. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, the City Council adopt the resolution amending the organizational membership of the Public Safety Advisory Board to seven (7) voting members, all of whom are citizen appointees of the City Council. Adopted by the City Council on May 8, 2001.
