RESOLUTION NO. 2001-130
APPROVAL OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN
PILLSBURY NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICES AND
THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH TO PROVIDE
NEIGHBORHOOD VAN SERVICES AS PART OF
THE ACCESS TO JOBS TRANSIT DEMONSTRATION PROJECT
WHEREAS, on January 23, 2001 the Plymouth City Council adopted Resolution No. 2001-
041 authorizing the City of Plymouth and Plymouth Metrolink to enter into an agreement
with the Metropolitan Council for federal Access to Jobs funding to implement a reverse
commute demonstration project known as "Job Stops"; and
WHEREAS, the operation of the "Job Stops" reverse commute demonstration project
requires neighborhood van service in north Minneapolis neighborhoods that will connect with
Plymouth Metrolink reverse commute services in the T.H. 55 corridor; and
WHEREAS, Pillsbury Neighborhood Services, a non-profit social service agency located in
north Minneapolis, has indicated their willingness to provide the requisite van service for the
"Job Stops" demonstration project; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Plymouth to enter into an agreement with
Pillsbury Neighborhood Services to operate and manage the neighborhood van service for the
"Job Stops" demonstration project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That it should and hereby does adopt the
"Agreement for Operation and Management of the Plymouth Metrolink `Job Stops' Reverse
Commute Service as Part of the Access to Jobs Federal Funding Program", and authorizes
the Mayor and City Manager to execute said agreement.
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED: That staff will update the City Council regarding program
status, including the degree to which program goals are being achieved, within six months of
program initiation and within twelve months of program initiation.
Adopted by the City Council on March 20, 2001.
