RESOLUTION NO. 2001-071
ORDER PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING REPORT FOR
PLYMOUTH BOULEVARD PARKING BAYS AND OVERLAY
IMPROVEMENTS
34TH AVENUE TO COUNTY ROAD 9
CITY PROJECT NO. 1002
WHEREAS, the 2001 annual budget has made recommendations, financing and provisions
for an Overlay Program; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to undertake a Preliminary Engineering Report to determine the
work required in the area recommended to be considered for the 2001 Overlay Project; and
WHEREAS, Plymouth Boulevard from 36"' Avenue to County Road 9 (Rockford Road) is
the recommended overlay project area; and
WHEREAS, the City has approved a concept for streetscape improvements along Plymouth
Blvd. from 34"' Avenue to County Road 9 which includes on -street parking from 34"' Avenue
to 37"' Avenue; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to undertake a Preliminary Engineering Report to consider the
work required in the area to add parking bays in place of the outside thri lane along
Plymouth Boulevard from the intersection of 34"' Avenue and the north City Hall Parking lot
entrance up to 37"' Avenue;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That the City Engineer is instructed to prepare a
Preliminary Engineering Report with all convenient speed advising the Council, in a
preliminary way, as to whether the proposed improvements are feasible and as to whether it
should best be made as proposed or in conjunction with some other improvement and the
estimated cost of the improvements as recommended.
