HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2001-028CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION 2001-028 CONCLUDING THE LAND USE STUDY AND RETAINING THE EXISTING LAND USES FOR THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH FOR PROPERTY KNOWN AS "STUDY AREA E-3" AND LOCATED NORTH OF HIGHWAY 55 AT OR NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF OLD ROCKFORD ROAD AND PEONY LANE (20043) WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth designated this area as "Study Area E" on the Land Use Guide Plan map of the Plymouth Comprehensive Plan and identified the study area for consideration of a possible change in the land use designation for the 19 -acre study area located north of Highway 55 at or near the intersection of Old Rockford Road and Peony Lane; and WHEREAS, Study Area E-3 is identified on the attached map. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the study area at a duly called public hearing; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does retain the existing land use classifications in Study Area E-3 and conclude the land use study for this area, based on the following findings: 1. The City has completed a thorough study of Area E-3 and finds that the existing guiding is appropriate. 2. The property could be developed under the existing C (Commercial) land use designation and provide appropriate transitions and buffers to the adjacent land uses. FURTHER, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does amend the official Land Use Guide Plan map to remove the "Study Area E" designation. Resolution No. 2001-028 Page 2 of 2 FURTHER, approval of the Land Use Guide Plan map amendment is contingent upon, and subject to, the required review and response by the Metropolitan Council.
