RESOLUTION NO. 2002-471
APPROVING COMMENTS ON ELM CREEK WATERSHED
MANAGEMENT COMMISSION DRAFT
2ND GENERATION WATERSHED MANAGEMENT PLAN
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth is a member of the Elm Creek Watershed Management
Commission (ECWMC) which is a Joint Powers Watershed Management Organization and
includes the northwest portion of Plymouth and contains the major water bodies including
Elm Creek and Lake Camelot; and
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has been a member of the ECWMC since it was formed
in 1973; and
WHEREAS, State law requires that Watershed Management Organizations update their
Comprehensive Storm Water Management Plans which are referred to as 2" a Generation
Plans; and
WHEREAS, the ECWMC has hired a consultant to prepare the 2" a Generation Plan for the
watershed and has held a public hearing on October 9, 2002, to receive public comment; and
WHEREAS, a revised draft plan will be prepared and comments accepted by the Watershed
until December 2, 2002; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That the attached comments are approved and
staff is directed to submit the following comments to the Elm Creek Watershed Management
Commission for their consideration and inclusion, as appropriate, into the revised 2" a
Generation Plan.
Adopted by the City Council on October 22, 2002.
