HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2002-363CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 2002-363 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF AN AUTOMATIC MUTUAL AID RESPONSE AGREEMENT FOR FIRE INCIDENTS BETWEEN THE PLYMOUTH FIRE DEPARTMENT AND THE MINNETONKA FIRE DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, it has been proven that the ability and time to mobilize available resources during an emergency has a direct impact on victim survival; and WHEREAS, this has been proven to be true in both fire and explosion incidents; and WHEREAS, in current mutual aid situations, there is a delay in the request and dispatch of personnel to the scene; and WHEREAS, in an effort to eliminate the delay, the Plymouth Fire Department is recommending a cooperative use agreement with the Minnetonka Fire Department; and WHEREAS, this agreement allows for the simultaneous dispatch of fire department resources, predetermined by location; and WHEREAS, the City Council agrees this is a beneficial use of manpower and equipment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, the City Council approves and adopts this automatic mutual aid agreement and further authorizes the Mayor and City Manager to sign the necessary joint and cooperative use agreement documents. Adopted by the City Council on August 13, 2002. STATE OF MINNESOTA) COUNTY OF HENNEPIN) SS.
