RESOLUTION NO. 2002-326
AUTHORIZING "THE IMPLMENTATION OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH"S
NEIGHBORHOOD TRAFFIC CALMING PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City is in need of a program to address the numerous traffic concerns on
residential streets; and
WHEREAS, the program should provide a systematic process to address these traffic concerns
by establishing procedures, guidelines, standards and techniques to assist City staff and residents
in accomplishing traffic management goals; and
WHEREAS, this program will require a high amount of neighborhood involvement and
commitment, which will improve communication through the neighborhood and will work
towards a solution that is in the best interest of the neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, the Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program is designed to address these traffic
concerns in neighborhoods through education, enforcement and engineering efforts through one
comprehensive traffic calming program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That it hereby, authorizes the implementation of the
Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program and revises the City's current policy concerning
requests for stop sign installations.
Adopted by the City Council on July 9, 2002.
