HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2002-280CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 2002-280 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING REVISION TO OFFICIAL GUIDELINES FOR USE OF CITY FACILITIES AND ENHANCED BUILDING SECURITY CHANGES WHEREAS, there is increased concern on a national level regarding security of public facilities; and WHEREAS, a group of City staff has performed a review of all City facilities and is proposing changes to the official guidelines for use of City facilities including the City Hall and Public Safety building, as well as changes to the buildings to enhance security; and WHEREAS, these changes apply to facilities usage when City Staff members are not involved in the meetings; and WHEREAS, the Fire Stations will no longer be used for meetings without City Staff present; and WHEREAS, these security changes will not exceed $45,000 in cost and the money is available in the current budget; and WHEREAS, the City Council agrees these changes are worthwhile and necessary to increase security. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, the City Council adopt the resolution authorizing revision to official guidelines for the use of City Hall and Public Safety Building facilities and enhanced building security changes for those buildings, and repeals the policy concerning public use of City Fire Stations. Adopted by the City Council on June 11, 2002.
