RESOLUTION NO. 2002-275
AMENDING POLICY RELATING TO SELECTION OF CONSULTANTS
WHEREAS, direction was provided by the City Council at their February 26, 2002 meeting directing
staff to proceed with the proposed procedure for updating the approved consultant list for public
improvement projects; and
WHEREAS, the last update of the approved consultant list of "regular consultants" as per Resolution
No. 85-731 (September 16, 1985) which established Policy Relating to the Selection of Consultants
was approved at the November 20, 1996 City Council meeting; and
WHEREAS, the Consultant Selection Review Committee completed the review of proposals received
from ten engineering consultants of which seven firms were interviewed on May 29 and 30, 2002; and
WHEREAS, it was the consensus of this committee that all seven interviewed consultants should be
included on the City's approved list of regular consultant firms for general public improvement
projects; and
WHEREAS, the Policy relating to the selection of consultants was last revised on November 20, 1996
to include the firms of Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik and Assoc., Inc., MSA Consulting Engineers,
Short, Elliott, Hendrickson, Inc., and SRF Consulting Group, Inc., to be designated in the matrix of
regular consultant firms (MSA Consulting Engineers has subsequently merged with Howard R. Green
Consulting Engineers); and
WHEREAS, the table entitled Matrix of Regular Consultant Firms has not been used in the consultant
selection process and should be replaced with an Appendix simply naming the list of regular consultant
firms and the policy should be revised to delete reference to the Matrix and replaced with reference to
the Appendix.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That the policy relating to the selection of consultants be revised to
delete the table entitled Matrix of Regular Consultant Firms and replaced with an Appendix naming
the list of approved regular consultant firms and include the following consultant firms in the appendix
as approved firms for doing general public improvement projects:
Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik and Assoc., Inc. (BRA)
Howard R. Green Consulting Engineers (HRG)
SRF Consulting Group, Inc. (SRF)
Bolton and Menk, Inc.
URS/BRW, Inc.
Short, Elliott, Hendrickson, Inc. (SEH)
Toltz, King, Duvall, Anderson and Associates, Inc. (TKDA)
AND FURTHER, that the services of the approved regular consultant firms be reviewed and
considered by the City Council on or before December 31, 2007.
Adopted by the City Council on June 11, 2002.
