HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2002-264CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 2002-264 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND POLICE CHIEF TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE FEDERAL EQUITABLE SHARING PROGRAM WHEREAS, the Plymouth police department may encounter cash or property through its law enforcement fiinction that qualify for Federal forfeiture; and WHEREAS, there is value to the City and the police department to be able to receive a share of any of these forfeiture fiinds; and WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Justice requires a signed agreement between the Federal government, the local law enforcement agency, and their governing body in place before any sharing of assets. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, the City Council adopt the resolution authorizing the City Manager and Police Chief to enter into an agreement with the Federal Government for participation in the Federal Equitable Sharing Program. Adopted by the City Council on June 11, 2002.
