RESOLUTION 2002-243
APPROVING A SITE PLAN AMENDMENT FOR KLEIN MCCARTHY & CO.
ARCHITECTS FOR A BUILDING EXPANSION AT THE HENNEPIN COUNTY ADULT
CORRECTIONAL FACILITY (HCACF), 1145 SHENANDOAH LANE NORTH (2002040)
WHEREAS, Klein McCarthy & Co. Architects has requested a site plan amendment to allow a
building expansion at the Hennepin County Adult Correctional Facility (HCACF) located at 1145
Shenandoah Lane North; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed said request at a duly called public meeting
and recommends approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does approve the request for a site
plan amendment to allow a building expansion for at the HCACF, subject to the following
conditions:
1. This site plan amendment allows constriction of two additionsa kitchen dock addition and a
laundry dock addition—totaling 2,240 square feet at the HCACF, as shown on the plans
received by the City on April 12, 2002, except as amended by this resolution.
2. The applicant must obtain the appropriate permits from the Building Division prior to
commencing any work on the building.
3. Prior to issuance of any building permits, the applicant shall submit a planting plan for the
three trees required in conjunction with this building expansion.
4. Any subsequent phases or expansions are subject to required reviews and approvals per
Ordinance provisions.

5. Standard Conditions:
a. Compliance with City Engineer's Memorandum.
b. Compliance with the Ordinance regarding the location of post indicator valve, fire
department lock box, fire hydrants, fire department connection, fire lanes, and fire lane
signage.
c. This approval shall expire one year after the date of approval, unless the landowner has
substantially started constriction of the project, or unless the landowner has received prior
approval from the City to extend the expiration date for up to one additional year, as
regulated under Section 21045.09 of the Zoning Ordinance.
