RESOLUTION 2002-232
APPROVING FINDINGS OF FACT TO ALLOW WIND ENERGY CONVERSION
SYSTEMS (WIND GENERATORS) AS AN ALLOWABLE USE IN THE P -I AND FRD
ZONING DISTRICTS (2002020)
WHEREAS, The Wayzata Public Schools has requested an amendment to the Zoning Ordinance
to allow Wind Energy Conversion Systems (Wind Generators) as an allowable use in the P -I
(Public/Institutional) District; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the text amendment at a duly called Public
Hearing and recommends approval; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted Ordinance No. 2002-232 amending the Zoning
Ordinance text to allow Wind Energy Conversion Systems (Wind Generators) as an allowable use
in the P -I (Public/Institutional) District and FRD (Future Restricted Development) District:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that amendments to Section 21005, 2 13 50, 21650 and adding
Section 21173 of the Zoning Ordinance are necessary based on the following findings:
1. The amendment is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan and other City policies and plans.
2. The amendment meets the purpose and intent of the Zoning Ordinance.
