HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2002-120CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION 2002-120 AUTHORIZING THE APPLICATION FOR AND ALLOCATION OF FISCAL YEAR 2002 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth is eligible to apply to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for 2002 fiinding for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program; and WHEREAS, on February 21, 2002, the Plymouth Housing and Redevelopment Authority held a duly constituted public hearing to allow interested parties to express their opinions regarding the allocation of fiends for the 2002 CDBG Program Year; and WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the recommendations of the Housing and Redevelopment Authority regarding the proposed activities and allocation of CDBG fiends for Program Year 2002; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it hereby directs the City Manager to submit to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development the application and all required documents for participation in the 2002 Community Development Block Grant Program Year and approves the allocation for the following projects in the respective proposed amounts: HRA Programs Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program $75,000 First Time Homebuyer Assistance Program 60,000 Affordable Housing Development Program 103,850 Public Service Programs Community Action for Suburban Hennepin (CASH) 9,150 Family Hope Services 4,000 Greater Minneapolis Day Care Association (GMDCA) 15,000 HOME Line 7,500 Northwest Branch YMCA 7,500 People Responding in Social Ministry (PRISM) 4,000 Training & Resources to Attain Long-term Individual Success (TRAILS) 5,000 Sub Total of Public Service Programs 52,150 Administration 3 0, 000 Total 2002 CDBG Allocation $321,000 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that CDBG program income is to be expended as an additional CDBG allocation for the program activity generating the income, unless otherwise reallocated by the City Council. Adopted by the Plymouth City Council on March 12, 2002.
