RESOLUTION 2002-103
APPROVING FINDINGS OF FACT FOR REZONING OF PROPERTY LOCATED WEST OF
VICKSBURG LANE AND NORTH OF SCHMIDT LAKE ROAD (2001148)
WHEREAS, Ryland Homes has requested reclassification of the zoning from FRD (Future
Restricted Development District) to RMF -2 (Multiple Family 2) for 19.25 acres of land located
north of Schmidt Lake Road and west of Vicksburg Lane, legally described as follows:
The north half of the southeast quarter of the northeast quarter of Section 8, Township
118 North, Range 22 West, City of Plymouth, Hennepin County, Minnesota
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed said request at a duly called Public Hearing
and recommends approval; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted an ordinance rezoning the affected parcel from FRD
(Future Restricted Development District) to RMF -2 (Multiple Family 2).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does approve the request for
reclassification of the zoning from FRD (Future Restricted Development District) to RMF -2
(Multiple Family 2) for 19.25 acres of land located located north of Schmidt Lake Road and west
of Vicksburg Lane, based on the following findings:
The proposed RMF -2 zoning is consistent with the LA -2 guiding of the property.
2. The proposed development meets the standards of the RMF -2 zoning district.
The proposed RMF -2 zoning allows a development that contributes toward the life cycle
housing goal and exceeds the density goal specified in the City's Housing Plan.
4. The applicant made a good faith effort to provide affordable units within the project.
