PW 67-40-01 BETWEEN THE STATE OF MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND THE COUNTY OF HENNEPIN AND THE CITY OF WAYZATA AND THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL IMPROVEMENTS ON COUNTY STATE AID HIGHWAY 101 AT THE SOUTH AND NORTH RAMPS OF TRUNK HIGHWAY NO. 12 INCLUDING INTERCONNECT FROM THE SOUTH RAMP TRAFFIC SIGNAL TO THE EXISTING TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT CSAH 101 AT 1sT AVENUE/HARMONY CIRCLE WHEREAS, the State has determined that there is justification and it is in the public's best interest to install new traffic control signals including street lights and signing on TH 12 south and north ramps at CSAH 101 and install traffic signal interconnect on CSAH 101 from TH 12 south ramps to I" Avenue North/Harmony Circle and provide maintenance and electrical energy for the existing traffic control signal, including street lights, on CSAH 101 at l" Avenue North/Harmony Circle; and WHEREAS, the City of Wayzata requests and the State agrees to the installation of Emergency Vehicle Preemption systems as a part of the new traffic control signal installations; and WHEREAS, it is in the public's best interest for the State to provide a master controller, two pedestal shafts and bases, and two new cabinets and control equipment to operate the new traffic control signals; and WHEREAS, the County, the City of Wayzata, the City of Plymouth and the State will participate in the cost, maintenance and operation of the new traffic control signals, EVP systems and interconnect, and the maintenance and operation of the existing traffic control signal; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That the City of Plymouth enter into an agreement with the State of Minnesota Department of Transportation for the following purposes, to wit: To remove the existing traffic control signals and install new traffic control signals with street lights, Emergency Vehicle Preemption and signing on TH 12 south and north ramps at CSAH 101 (Central Avenue); install interconnect C Documents and Settnig, anfieese,Local Setting, TeupCCR 2002-051_ 3550 CCR 2002-0?l.doe Resolution No. 2002-051 Page 2 of 2 on CSAH 101 from TH 12 south ramps to Ist Avenue North/Harmony Circle; and provide maintenance and electrical energy for the existing traffic control signal with street lights on CSAH 101 at Ist Avenue North/Harmony Circle in accordance with the terms and conditions set forth and contained in Agreement No. 82801R, a copy of which was before the City Council. FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED: That the Mayor and City Manager are authorized to execute such agreement and any amendments and thereby assume for and on behalf of the City all of the contractual obligations contained therein.
