HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2003-558CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION 2003-558 APPROVING FINDINGS OF FACT FOR ZONING ORDINANCE TEXT AMENDMENT TO ADDRESS HELICOPTER LANDINGS AND TAKE -OFFS (2003090) WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the text amendment at a duly called Public Hearing; and WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted a Zoning Ordinance text amendment to allow helicopter landings and take -offs in certain zoning districts upon issuance of a conditional use permit. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does approve a Zoning Ordinance text amendment to allow helicopter landings and take -offs in certain zoning districts upon issuance of a conditional use permit, based upon the following findings: 1. The proposed regulations would be consistent with the City's Comprehensive Plan. 2. The conditional use permit procedure would establish conditions of approval intended to assure that the public is not endangered, annoyed, or unduly distracted by helicopter landings and take -offs. 3. Helistops could provide alternative opportunities for transport of passengers and/or packages in the FRD (Future Restricted Development), B -C (Business Campus), I-1 (Light Industrial), I-2 (General Industrial), I-3 (Heavy Industrial), P -I (Public/Institutional), and certain PUD (Planned Unit Development) zoning districts.
