HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2003-538CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 2003-538 AUTHORIZING "NO PARKING" RESTRICTION ON TRENTON LANE NORTH OF BASS LAKE ROAD WHEREAS, due to the curvature of Trenton Lane there is limited sight distance for vehicles when there is parking on both sides of the street specifically for vehicles as they make a left turn from Trenton Lane into the north driveway of 6075 Trenton Lane or the west driveway of 6105 Trenton Lane; and WHEREAS, there is limited sight distance for vehicles as they exit the driveways of 6075 and 6105 Trenton Lane due to vehicles parking on both sides of those driveways; and WHEREAS, based on City Zoning Ordinance 21105.05, it is important to have clear sight distance at any street or driveway for a distance of 30 feet from the corner; and WHEREAS, restricting parking in accordance with the zoning ordinance will help drivers to exit the driveways more safely by providing a greater line of sight; and WHEREAS, there will be adequate off-street and on -street parking provided with the proposed restriction even though 15 on -street parking spaces on Trenton Lane will be eliminated; and WHEREAS, the primary purpose of the public street is access for the adjacent properties and for the safe movement of vehicles and parking is considered a secondary use of this roadway; and WHEREAS, to ensure the safe movement of vehicles by providing adequate sight distance; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That it authorizes the installation of "No Parking" signs on the south side of Trenton Lane for approximately 250 feet on the inside roadway curve and from 30 feet southwest of the north 6075 Trenton Lane driveway to 30 feet east of the west 6105 Trenton Lane driveway. Adopted by the City Council on November 25, 2003.
