RESOLUTION NO. 2003-537
AUTHORIZING "NO PARKING" RESTRICTION ON 35TH AVENUE
WEST OF PLYMOUTH BOULEVARD
WHEREAS, there is limited sight distance for vehicles as they exit the driveway of 3475
Plymouth Boulevard onto 35th Avenue due to the on -street parking; and
WHEREAS, based on the City's zoning ordinance 21105.05, it is important to have clear sight
distance at any street or driveway for a distance of 30 feet from the corner; and
WHEREAS, restricting parking in accordance with the zoning ordinance will help drivers to exit
the driveway more safely by providing a greater line of sight; and
WHEREAS, sixty-eight parking spaces were required for this development and a total of 69
were provided; and
WHEREAS, this parking restriction would eliminate one of the spaces that was provided as part
of the approved site plan, which would still provide adequate parking for the development; and
WHEREAS, the primary purpose of the public street is access for the adjacent properties and for
the safe movement of vehicles and parking is considered a secondary use of this roadway; and
WHEREAS, to ensure the safe movement of vehicles and adequate sight distance at the
intersection;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: that it hereby authorizes the installation of "No Parking"
signs on the south side of 35th Avenue for a distance of 30 feet on each side of the driveway for
3475 Plymouth Boulevard.
