RESOLUTION NO. 2003-487
TO ACCEPT COPS GRANT FUNDS FROM THE
U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE AWARDED THROUGH
THE METROPOLITAN RADIO BOARD
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth Police and Fire Departments are dispatched through
Hennepin County Sheriff's Radio; and
WHEREAS, this radio system is moving to an 800 MHz digital radio communications
system; and
WHEREAS, this change required the purchase of new radio equipment for both the
Police and Fire Departments; and
WHEREAS, the Police and Fire Departments both made application for grant funds
through the Metropolitan Radio Board to purchase additional 800 MHz equipment; and
WHEREAS, the City was notified that it was approved for a grant in the amount of
$33,600.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLYMOUTH, that the City Council adopt the resolution accepting the COPS grant funds
from the U.S. Department of Justice administered through the Metropolitan Radio Board;
and authorize the purchase of 800 MHz digital radio communications equipment in that
amount.
