HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2003-409CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 2003-409 PLYMOUTH ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY COMMITTEE'S (EQC) REQUEST TO RECONVENE THE MEDICINE WATERSHED SUBCOMMITTEE WHEREAS, the City Council adopted the Medicine Lake Watershed Implementation and Management Plan on October 9, 2001; and WHEREAS, the plan contains recommendations to improve the water quality of Medicine Lake over a five year period; and WHEREAS, the plan did not identify any structural improvements to reduce the nutrient and sediment contribution of Plymouth Creek into Medicine Lake; and WHEREAS, the Plymouth Environmental Quality Committee is recommending that the City Council reconvene the Medicine Lake Watershed Subcommittee to further study and provide recommendations on reducing phosphorus and total suspended solids entering Medicine Lake from Plymouth Creek; and WHEREAS, the Plymouth Environmental Quality Committee is recommending that the Medicine Lake Watershed Subcommittee include as many of the original members as are willing to serve and add a representative for the City of Medicine Lake; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That the Plymouth Environmental Quality Committee reconvene the Medicine Lake Watershed Subcommittee with as many of the original members as possible plus a representative from the City of Medicine Lake to further study and provide recommendations on reducing phosphorus and total suspended solids entering Medicine Lake from Plymouth Creek. Adopted by the City Council on September 23, 2003.
