HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2003-386CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 2003-386 STREET RECONSTRUCTION ASSESSMENT POLICY IMPLEMENTATION FOR 2004 WHEREAS, the City Council revised the Street Reconstruction policy on August 12, 2003 to require 30% of the total project cost be assessed consistent with the long term goal of the Pavement Management Program; and WHEREAS, the revised the Street Reconstruction policy is effective January 1, 2004; and WHEREAS, to reduce the inequities between neighborhoods the City wishes to avoid a large increase in individual assessments when transitioning to the revised policy; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to assess a minimum of 20% of the total project cost in order to sell Special Assessment Bonds for street reconstruction projects; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: that the implementation of the Street Reconstruction Assessment Policy is modified as follows: 1. The Street Reconstruction assessments for the 2004 Street Reconstruction Program shall be calculated based on 20% of the total project cost of the 2004 Street Reconstruction Program. FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED; that if any of the project areas ordered by the City Council for reconstruction in 2004, if delayed for any reason to a subsequent specific year, will be assessed based on 20% of the total project cost. Adopted by the City Council on September 9, 2003.
